Guitarist Jonathon Long, who has just released a self-titled critically-acclaimed album on Samantha Fish's Wild Heart Records label, takes to the road in support of the album, opening for Fish's current tour, with a show locally at the Pour House, 1977 Maybank Highway, Monday, December 3. The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent feature films selected across all categories for the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 24 - February 3, 2019.

Legendary Platinum rockers STYX and comedy legend Larry the Cable Guy are joining forces for the first time ever to rock and GIT-R-DONE. They're coming together for seven unforgettable nights of hits and jokes billed as “Laugh. Rock. Seriously.” starting March 21 in Fargo, ND at the Scheels Arena. The short trek will bring them to Minot, ND on March 22, Billings, MT on March 23, Lincoln, NE on March 27, Sioux City, IA on March 28, Cedar Rapids, IA on March 29, and Champaign, IL on March 30. Tickets for the shows go on sale Friday, November 30 at 10am local time at Styxworld.com.

The Bronx Museum of the Arts is pleased to present White Outs, an exhibition by artist Eddie Martinez, which will be on view November 14, 2018 through February 17, 2019. Widely recognized for his large-scale paintings, Martinez has built a consistent body of work over the last decade, successfully merging the tradition of American abstract painting with the energy of the street. These paintings began as Sharpie drawings, then were blown-up, silkscreened, and painted over in a careful, yet unfailingly dynamic, process of layering and expansion. In these new works, created especially for this exhibition, Martinez introduces a new element to his process-the "whiting out" of parts of the composition. It is a move that represents a significant turning point in his career.

Ensemble Studio Theatre, along with The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation (Doron Weber, Vice-President, Programs), announced today the 2018 Fall Artist Cultivation Event, marking the 20th anniversary of the EST/Sloan Project, to take place on Monday, November 19 at 8pm with a reception beginning at 7:30pm.

United Solo will host a Master Class with Anne Bogart, internationally acclaimed director, author, and Head of the MFA in Directing Program at Columbia University. This Master Class is a unique opportunity to work with a legendary theatre artist. It will take place on November 5, 2018 from 6pm-8pm at Theatre Row in New York City.

The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company will present the fourteenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Will Reynolds and Eric Price. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by Alan Cumming on Monday, November 26th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

Tickets for the Canadian premiere of Sting's acclaimed musical The Last Ship will go on public sale Monday November 12. Presented by David Mirvish and produced by Karl Sydow and Kathryn Schenker, the limited six-week engagement runs February 9 through March 24, 2019 at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre.

Indio's Desert Theatreworks continues their strong 2018/19 season with a stylish production of Agatha Christie's MURDER ON THE NILE. Smartly dressed characters with distinct, larger-than-life personalities, come together in the early 1940's onboard an Egyptian riverboat. One of them gets shot through the head, and the remainder of the show deals with the characters figuring out whodunnit.

Tony Award winner Bill Berloni is known as "Broadway's Dog Trainer" and has trained dogs (and cats and birds...) for many plays, movies and musicals. The Axelrod PAC welcomes Marti, one of Bill's most accomplished rescue dogs, to the cast of "Annie" as Sandy! 

Though the French public is more familiar with Chicago through the Rob Marshall movie of 2002, there has already been a French-language version at the Casino de Paris in 2004, but it actually came from Canada as part of an international tour.  Even before Stage Entertainment took over, that production was so successful that it was extended with a French cast taking over from the Canadians.  After the recent German production, Stage Entertainment could legitimately bring the show back to Paris.  After all, the spirit of Mr. Fosse had already entered the walls of Mogador Theatre since the international tour of Dancin' was transferred in 1981.

The first will take place Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. at the University of Illinois-Urbana, Foellinger Auditorium, 709 S. Mathews Ave, Urbana, Ill. The second will take place Friday, Nov. 2 at 4:30 p.m. at Chicago's Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, Theater East, 915 E. 60th St., on the campus of the University of Chicago. The performances are recommended for ages 4 and up.

In an evening of songs for two, Bassichis will perform the pleasure and pitfalls of the duo form with a lineup of very special guests: artist Malik Gaines, child star Helen Messineo-Pandjiris, cellist Ethan Philbrick, choreographer Mariana Valencia, and perhaps-falling as it does during a time of year where the "veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is thin"-some less tangible partners.
