Austin-based rock artist Jonathon Zemek gears up for the official release of his comic book/rock opera project 'Hillcrest' this weekend. The album part of the project will be out everywhere music can be streamed/bought - including Austin's own Waterloo Records - while the comic book can be purchased at this link, or at Zemek's booth at this year's Wizard World Austin convention starting this Friday, Sept. 21 through Sunday Sept. 23 at the Austin Convention Center. 'Hillcrest' can be found at booth 1032 in Artist Alley at Wizard World Austin. At the booth, merchandise, CDs and books will be available and Zemek will be joined by 'Hillcrest' illustrator Chris Rogers on Friday and Sunday, who will be live-sketching for interested patrons, as well as producer Matt Smith and vocalist Andrea Lindzey on Saturday. The senior executives tapped to lead original kids and family content for HBO Max were announced today by Jennifer O'Connell, Executive Vice President, Original Non-Fiction and Kids, HBO Max. Joining the kids and family team are Billy Wee, Senior Vice President, Original Animation, and Nikki Reed, Vice President, Kids and Family Scripted Originals, both reporting to O'Connell. Bringing veteran experience in the kids and family space, the group will create a deep slate of family-oriented, animated and scripted originals for WarnerMedia's direct-to-consumer offering scheduled to launch in spring of 2020.

The Washington Stage Guild presents the world premiere of All Save One by area playwright Greg Jones Ellis. Set in Hollywood 1950, this witty comedy-drama reveals what goes on behind closed doors when a world-famous writer, his actress wife and his longtime "secretary" arrive from England, only to have their comfortable household disrupted by the arrival of a handsome young priest and a film producer with a secret of his own. Add a malicious young blackmailer, and this glimpse into how Hollywood dealt with private lives is by turns darkly funny and emotionally powerful. All Save One opens Thursday, Nov. 15 and runs through Sunday, December 9. NOTE: There is no performance on Thanksgiving (Nov. 22), but there is an added matinee performance on Friday, Nov. 23 at 2:30 pm. Press opening performance will be on Sunday, November 19 at 2:30 pm.

Co-founder of Austin-based band Soul Track Mind Jonathon Zemek announces a multimedia project depicting a fictional coming of age story entitled 'Hillcrest.' The project includes an album featuring Guy Forsyth, Malford Milligan, Matt Smith, Andrea Lindzeyand Roderick Sanford who all portray the vocal characters in the story of 'Hillcrest,' giving voices to the art of an accompanying comic book illustrated by local street artist Chris Rogers. Both the album and the comic book are set to release Sept. 21, 2018 with an official release show that evening. AMC today announced that it has greenlit “Pantheon,” an ambitious one-hour animated drama based on a series of short stories by Ken Liu about Uploaded Intelligence, or, human consciousness uploaded to the 'cloud.' Home Body will release their new album Spiritus on April 26 via via Feeding Tube Records and Peace & Rhythm (pre-order). Today the band shared the latest single, 'Comet,' from the upcoming release. The track premiered at Earmilk and can also be shared on Soundcloud. About the track Earmilk says, 'Comprised of synthesist Eric Hnatow and vocalist Haley Morgan, 'Comet' is an immediate atmospheric playing field for the unknown. There's an obvious chemical reaction from the two on the track – which comes as no surprise considering the duo have been a couple for over thirteen years – that transmits the essential philosophy that we are more connected than we may realize.'
