The long intermission is almost over and LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT have announced their 44th season of shows, and will welcome subscribers and audiences back for another exciting, joy-filled season of Broadway smash hits, concerts, comedy and much, much more!

The iconic Downtown Las Vegas destination – Fremont Hotel and Casino – is celebrating its 65th anniversary by offering gift giveaways, a $6,500 Hot Seat promotion and a festive lineup of themed cocktails on Friday, May 28 through Monday, May 31.

The Ailey organization continues to carry forward Alvin Ailey's pioneering legacy of not only entertaining but uniting, empowering and educating through Ailey All Access. The online initiative offers free performance broadcasts from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater repertory, Ailey Extension dance, conversations and more. 

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre remembers and celebrates one of their founding members MICHAEL JONES, who passed away a year ago. An Emmy winner and recipient of the Oklahoma Governor’s Arts Award, Michael was a co-founder and Artistic Associate at OKC Rep. While Michael was a pillar of the OKC theatre community, he also worked all over the country. Michael touched the lives and hearts of so many he worked with. FILM AT LINCOLN CENTER ANNOUNCES REVIVALS FOR THE 58th NEW YORK FILM FESTIVAL (September 17 – October 11).

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley's Artistic Director Tim Bond and Executive Director Phil Santora announced today that the Tony Award-winning theatre will postpone the opening of its 51st mainstage season to March 2021, with eight plays presented through May 2022.

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, Tony Award winning actor Brent Carver has passed away at age 68. This evening, Carver's Broadway colleagues took to social media to celebrate his life and legacy.

Sometimes, I worry when seeing LES MISERABLES yet another time that it won't ignite the same spark within me. And yet, without fail, this musical reminds me not just why I love theatre, but also of so many truths about humanity. It's a multi-layered story, difficult to simmer down to a concise summary.
