The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

Everybody's got the right... to be vaccinated. On last night's reunion of the original company of Assassins, beloved Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim, who turns 91 later this month, revealed that he is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 

Over 100 UK performers have come together to remotely record 'The Bells of Notre Dame' from Disney's animated film 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'. The project has been produced by Wicked actress Rebecca Gilliland, who founded Bookend Productions, to give artists a chance to perform after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down theatres across the world.

The group, which includes a mixture of West End performers, (Les Miserables, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Book of Mormon, Bat out of Hell and more) performers from across the UK and new performing arts graduates, recorded their parts for the song from their homes to comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Beloved Broadway production supervisor Arthur P. Siccardi has passed away at 89. Arthur P., II was one of the best-loved figures in the American theater, with a distinguished career as a production supervisor that spanned five decades working with the biggest stars, directors and producers on some of the best-known shows in Broadway history.

While performing arts organizations around the world are dusting off existing productions of the usual chestnuts during the month of December, Opera San José is taking a more audacious approach with its holiday programming. The musical theatre came roaring back in the 1990s and began a new Golden Age for the art form. And there's a new book that takes you on a guided tour.

Following a highly successful run in Peoria at Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT), La Cage aux Folles will move to Herberger Theater Center (HTC) in downtown Phoenix March 6 through March 22, 2020.* ABT has been a resident company at HTC since 2018 having partnered with HTC on productions such as A Christmas Carol, Beauty and The Beast, Mary Poppins, Sweeney Todd, An American in Paris and, most recently, the hilarious Addams Family in June 2019.

A new pocket-sized hardback selection of Stephen Sondheim lyrics will be published by Alfred A. Knopf. Knopf previously published Sondheim's two-volume complete lyric collection, released in 2010 and 2012.
