Rabbit Hole is the first production of Breach Once More 2018-2019 season. Rabbit Hole is a family drama that charts a grieving family through a empathic search for comfort in the darkest of places and a path that will lead them back into the light of day. Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart. The entire family finds themselves lost as they attempt to recovery from the loss of their son. The Corbett's have become strangers in their own home; inhabiting isolated space.

Opera Atelier's founding co-artistic directors Marshall Pynkoski and Jeannette Lajeunesse Zingg today announced that the company will tour to Chicago as part of the Harris Theater for Music and Dance's 2018-19 season. Opera Atelier's French Baroque double bill of Charpentier's Acteon paired with Rameau's Pygmalion will embark on an international tour to the Harris Theater (Nov. 15-17, 2018) and the Palace of Versailles (Nov. 30-Dec. 2, 2018), following its run at Toronto's Elgin Theatre (Oct. 25-Nov. 3, 2018). Opera Atelier's longtime partners Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra will join the company on tour.

Sarasota Opera will celebrate its 60th anniversary season in 2018/2019 as it announced today at a press conference held on the main stage of the Sarasota Opera House in Sarasota, FL. The event was overseen by Maestro Victor DeRenzi, artistic director and principal conductor, and Richard Russell, Executive Director. Performances were offered by soprano Kara Shay Thomson who sang "In questa reggia" from Puccini's Turandot and bass Young Bok Kim who sang "La calunnia" from Rossini's The Barber of Seville. In addition, the audience participated in a community sing of the famous chorus "Va, pensiero" from Verdi's Nabucco.

TINA, a new musical based on the life of legendary artist Tina Turner, has made a boom at the box office according to The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye. The columnist reported this evening that due to skyrocketing sales at the box office, the musical has released an additional 100,000 tickets for the show. The newly released tickets will extend the run of the show, now booking through October 2018.

Washington National Opera (WNO) presents the sixth season of its acclaimed American Opera Initiative, a comprehensive commissioning program that brings contemporary American stories to the stage while fostering the talents of rising American composers and librettists. All of the program's world premiere operas are presented during the American Opera Initiative Festival weekend,January 19 21, 2018, all in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. The festival begins with the world premiere of a new hour-long work by composer Missy Mazzoli and librettist Royce Vavrek, Proving Up, on January 19 and 21, 2018, directed by Alison Moritz and conducted by Christopher Rountree, both in their WNO debuts. Three new pairings of opera composers and librettists Nathan Fletcher and Megan Cohen, Gity Razaz and Sara Cooper, John Glover and Erin Bregman offer new, one-act operas during the festival. Two semi-staged concert performances of each 20-minute opera are presented on January 20, 2018.

The Company's 96th Season will open Friday, September 7 with a gala double-bill performance of Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Ruggero Leoncavallo's Pagliacci in Jos Cura's production with an international cast featuring Lianna Haroutounian, Ekaterina Semenchuk, Roberto Aronica, Marco Berti and Dimitri Platanias, conducted by Daniele Callegari. To usher in the new opera season, San Francisco Opera Guild will produce its signature benefit event, Opera Ball 2018.
