At the elegant Soroya Theatre in Northridge, CA, Martha Graham's Dance Company, under Artistic Director Janet Eilber's seasoned guidance, performed a most incredible group of works.  Some were originally created approximately 80 years ago, by Martha Graham, a true icon in the Dance world.  The EVE Project, as this evening, March 2nd, 2019 was entitled, gave us a wide variety of themes within a theme, that being Women and their significance, their power, their passion and their strength.  It was polished to perfection, and each piece carried many meanings and concepts and was just so beautifully performed and articulated. The Martha Graham Dance Company is the oldest contemporary dance company in the United States, founded in 1926.  Since it's inception it has explored and encompassed political and humanitarian issues, as well as affairs of the heart and human interactions, while creating a prolific dance technique that is unequaled in it's scope.  Graham created a total of 181 ballets during her long career, and is recognized as a primal artistic force of the 20th century, being named in 1998 as 'Dancer of the Century' in Time magazine, and labeled one of the female 'Icons of the Century' by People Magazine.

MIONG opened at REP Philippines on February 22 and is running through March 10, 2019.

Whose Live Anyway? is 90 minutes of hilarious, improvised comedy and song created on the spot by cast members Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, and Joel Murray through suggestions from the audience. This year, a living legend of musical theatre turns 90: Lyricist-bookwriter Tom Jones (who also, under a stage name) appeared in the original company of his most famous and wildly successful record-breaking musical, The Fantasticks. His collaborator, composer Harvey Schmidt, just recently passed away. The production's record-breaking run closed, on January 13, 2002, after 17,162 performances. Their shows also include 110 in the Shade, I Do! I Do!, Philemon, Celebration and many more. And celebration is what it's about when Broadway veterans Carole Demas, who originated the role of Sandy in Grease, and Sarah Rice, who originated the role of Johanna in Sweeney Todd, return to celebrate Jones & Schmidt. Demas and Rice have based the show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Tom and Harvey. With very special guest Broadway's Hal Robinson who is also a Fantasticks alumni.

Award-winning actor, author and piano virtuoso Hershey Felder will present the New York debut of his acclaimed one-man show Our Great Tchaikovsky at a special one-night-only performance on Monday, October 15 at 7:30 PM at 59E59 Theatres (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). The performance will be a benefit for the Lyric Chamber Music Society of New York.

The video for “Gainesville”—a previously unreleased song on the Tom Petty career-spanning box set An American Treasure—is premiering today. “Gainesville” was recorded in 1998 during Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' Echo sessions, and the video was directed by Brantley Gutierrez and produced by Michael W. This October, 1,000 singers from across New York City's five boroughs will come together on the High Line for the premiere performances of The Mile-Long Opera: a biography of 7 o'clock. Due to overwhelming demand for tickets to the previously announced performances (October 3-7), an encore performance will be added on October 8.Tickets for this additional night will be made available first to members of the public currently on the waitlist, on a first come, first served basis, beginning Thursday, September 27, at noon. Following the announcement of their Opening Night Film, Yen Tan's award-winning AIDS drama 1985, NewFest today announced the full lineup of their 30th annual celebration of the year's best LGBT films from around the world. The program of more than 140 narrative features, documentaries, episodic series and shorts runs from October 24-30 at the SVA Theatre, Cinépolis Chelsea, and The LGBT Community Center in New York City.

Joe's Pub at The Public presents the North American premiere of Murray Hill: About To Break, a new comedy and theatrical event, running September 20-22 and 27-29. About To Break is written and performed by Hill and directed and developed with Tony Award-winning lyricist, writer, and director Scott Wittman. Renowned as a comic host around the world, this new show is a departure, putting Hill center stage in the first major dedicated solo show of his long, storied career. Musical direction is by Paul Leschen with original music by Hill with Wittman, Marc Shaiman, Kyle Forrester, Eric Kornfeld, Jesse Elder, and Leschen.
