Hershey Felder Presents NY Premiere for OUR GREAT TCHAIKOVSKY

Award-winning actor, author and piano virtuoso Hershey Felder will present the New York debut of his acclaimed one-man show Our Great Tchaikovsky at a special one-night-only performance on Monday, October 15 at 7:30 PM at 59E59 Theatres (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). The performance will be a benefit for the Lyric Chamber Music Society of New York. For tickets or more information, please visit www.lyricny.org.

Our Great Tchaikovsky, with music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, book by Felder and direction by Trevor Hay, is a time-bending tale of culture and repression, exploring the mystery surrounding some of the greatest music ever written. From the unforgettable ballets Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker, to the outrageous 1812 Overture and the brilliant symphonic works, this powerful musical tribute travels to Czarist times to ponder the inevitable enigma of genius.

The World Premiere of Our Great Tchaikovsky took place at San Diego Repertory Theatre in 2017. The production has received universal acclaim, and has broken box office records throughout the US and in London's West End.

Our Great Tchaikovsky will be performed on the set of Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin, currently running at 59E59 Theatres, with sound design by Erik Carstensen and projections by Christopher Ash.

Felder is in the final three weeks of his critically acclaimed sold out run for Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin, with performances through Sunday, October 28 at 59E59 Theatres. For tickets or more information, visit www.59E59.org.

Since its debut in 1998, the Lyric Chamber Music Society of New York has presented chamber music and cutting-edge repertoire in an intimate salon setting - as it was intended. Its concerts have been described as a "quintessential upper east side townhouse experience" and the organization caters to music lovers, students and connoisseurs from all over the world.

The unique Lyric experience offers up close exposure to rising stars, as well as Concert Masters and Principal Players from leading orchestras, interpreting masterpieces of chamber music. The Lyric's programming combines classic chamber music works, rarely performed compositions, and innovative contemporary pieces.

The Lyric discovers, nurtures and introduces upcoming talent from around the world, giving an opportunity to perform with eminent musicians for an audience, be reviewed by the national press, and to be broadcast on radio stations across the country.

To help ensure tomorrow's audience for classical music, The Lyric is actively involved in education and community engagement programs in the metro area. The organization is committed to broaden this initiative by sending artists to underserved schools, both with and without music programs.
