If you think your life is complicated, imagine the life of ordinary, unassuming a?" and two-timing a?" taxi driver John Smith who has two wives in two nearby towns and must keep them from ever discovering each other! That's the plot of Run For Your Wife, Second Street Players' fast-paced comedy that opens at Riverfront Theater in downtown Milford on Friday, Sept. 13.

I had the pleasure of seeing A Bronx Tale with my friend Cassy, who had NEVER seen a musical before! (I know, right?!) I invited Cassy because the 1993 movie, off which the musical is based, is her favorite. Seriously, her cat is named Calogero, after the lead character in both the movie and the play. I was excited to see this show, and especially excited to see it through the eyes of a neophyte theater goer. I was not disappointed!

Up-and-coming Los Angeles rock band Starcrawler, fronted by the enigmatic nineteen-year-old frontwoman Arrow de Wilde, release a cover of The Ramones' 1989 single “Pet Sematary” for the new Paramount Pictures film, based on Stephen King's iconic novel, in theaters April 5, 2019. Featured in the movie's closing credits, the band's cover of “Pet Sematary” was recorded by Mark Rankin (Queens of the Stone Age, Adele, Bloc Party, Weezer) and mixed by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Sharon Van Etten), and is a wild and contemporary run on the original track. The award-winning, autobiographical comedy MY LIFE ON A DIET, starring Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning writer and actress Renee Taylor ("The Nanny"), kicks off a national tour this weekend with three performances at The Gateway, Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County (215 South Country Road, Bellport, NY 11713) on Friday, March 15 at 8pm and Saturday, March 16 at 3pm & 8pm.  The tour continues with a limited run at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' Lovelace Studio Theater (9390 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90210) from Friday, April 5 through Sunday, April 14.

The Shakespeare Theatre Association (STA) annual conference came to Prague this year. After a successful run in Central Park, playing to over 4,000 people, performances resume on Wednesday, June 27 in Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City for New York Classical Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by the company's Founding Artistic Director Stephen Burdman. The production will play this week through June 30, before continuing on to The Battery, Carl Schurz Park, and Brooklyn Bridge Park for performances through July 29. Sandra Dickinson has had a long and diverse career, spanning stage and screen. An American who has lived in the UK for over four decades, she was recently seen in Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One and as Lucille Ball in I Loved Lucy at the Arts Theatre. She is currently starring opposite Jonathan Chambers in the European premiere of The Unbuilt City at the King's Head Theatre.
