MasterVoices - dedicated to the art of musical storytelling and the celebration of the human voice - presents a free performance of a new version of the dramatic oratorio Naamah's Ark by composer Marisa Michelson and librettist Royce Vavrek, on Sunday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Rockefeller Park. The event is produced in collaboration with the River To River Festival, presented by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), and Battery Park City Authority.

Karamu House, the oldest multicultural performing arts center in the country, closes it's 102nd consecutive season with the Tony Award-winning musical Passing Strange. Karamu House President and CEO, Tony F. Sias notes, 'this is a piece that is important and relevant, and speaks to and engages our millennial and 'genZ' generations.' With book and lyrics written by Tony Award-winning singer-songwriter Stew, and music composed by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, the production opened on May 10 and will run through June 3, 2018 in Karamu's Arena Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio.

New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of providing an outstanding music education and performance opportunities to students between the ages of 12-22 by launching a new Musical Theater Composition program aimed at diversifying the world of musical theater. The new director and performance information is expected to be announced in summer 2018. Also new in 2018/19 the NYYS Orchestra and Chamber Music Programs will tour together for the first time ever to Spain in 2019, where they will explore cities including Madrid, Granada, and Seville.

The 17th annual Austin City Limits Music Festival will deliver one of the most exceptional lineups of this year's festival season with headliners Paul McCartney, Metallica, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, TRAVIS SCOTT and ODESZA. The history-making bill includes first time ACL Fest performances and only North American festival appearances by both Paul McCartney and Metallica, a triumphant return by GRAMMY, Golden Globe and Emmy-Award winning Childish Gambino, a highly anticipated performance from Arctic Monkeys, and debut sets from Texas native TRAVIS SCOTT and electronic superstars ODESZA. The National, Khalid, Hozier, David Byrne, CHVRCHES, Deftones, Justice, ST. VINCENT, Sylvan Esso, FATHER JOHN MISTY, Brandi Carlile, ILLENIUM, Janelle Monáe and many more will take the stage throughout ACL Fest's colossal two consecutive weekends. Broadway Dreams demonstrated the unifying power of the arts when the internationally renowned performing arts education program sent nine Broadway professionals to Moscow, Russia for the third consecutive year. Through a landmark partnership created between the non-profit organization, the U.S. Embassy, the U.S. Department of State, and Moscow Broadway, Broadway Dreams offered their unique brand of Broadway master classes to 81 Russian performers of all ages during a ten-day intensive program. The collaboration culminated in three public performances at the Lyudmila Ryumina Concert Hall, Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will mark the opening of its new major exhibition, Outlaws & Armadillos: Country's Roaring '70s, with a lively concentration of programs highlighting the cultural and artistic explosion forged in the 1970s by two distinctly creative cities: Austin and Nashville.

Today (16 April 2018), rehearsals begin for the West End production of Nina Raine's Consent which will begin previews at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 18 May with its opening night on 29 May 2018. Directed by Roger Michell and originally co-produced and commissioned by Out of Joint, this strictly limited 12-week run is booking through to 11 August 2018 following the 2017 critically acclaimed sell-out run at the National Theatre. A series of accompanying pre-show talks and discussions exploring ideas of justice, consent, marriage and modern parenthood will be announced at a later date.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Diego Boneta, who starred in Scream Queens and Rock of Ages, is set to play a key role in the revival of the Terminator franchise and is in negotiations to join the production.

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC)made its spring announcement of 18 new shows added to the 2018-2019 season, continuing to showcase chart topping musicians, compelling dance companies, groundbreaking storytellers and authors and a wide range of holiday performances, all appealing to diverse audiences. Tickets for all shows go on sale first to LBC members on Monday, April 9 at 12 p.m. and then to the general public on Friday, April 20 at 12 p.m.

The calendar may say Spring (has anyone told the weather?) but things are heating up on Broadway! Performances begin tonight for Summer: The Donna Summer Musical at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Broadway.

This March the more than twenty organizations in ten cities nationwide that compose the Poetry Coalition will launch Where My Dreaming and My Loving Live: Poetry & the Body, the coalition's second annual programming initiative. For this collaborative effort, each organization will bring its unique mission to the task of presenting programs and projects on the theme of the body. Programs will include a range of events and publications that address issues including mass incarceration, transphobia, violence against people of color, and health and self-care. This programming is made possible in part by a grant from the Ford Foundation secured by the Academy of American Poets.

Bloomingdale School of Music (BSM) is pleased to continue its mini-series celebrating the music of women composers with a concert entitled, The Music of Rebecca Clarke on Friday, March 9th at 7:00 pm.  This free concert will be held at the David Greer Recital Hall at the school's home site at 323 West 108th Street in Manhattan. Seating is limited. Led by BSM piano faculty member Tim McCullough and joined by mezzo soprano Lara Nie and violist Ann Roggen, the program shines a spotlight on the music of the English/American composer Rebecca Clarke and features vocal settings of poems by William Shakespeare and William Blake as well as the epic Viola Sonata.  

The fourth annual Broadway Stage Management Symposium (BSMS) will feature an incredible line up of Broadway's top stage managers in panels that address some of today's most important issues in the theatre industry.

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet presents four world premieres in the eighth annual Winning Works program, the culmination of Joffrey's national call for ALAANA (African, Latino(a), Asian, Arab and Native American) artists to submit applications for the Joffrey Academy's Eighth Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition. This year's Competition winners-Telmo Moreira, Omar Roman De Jesus, Claudia Schreier and Luis Vazquez-each have choreographed an original work created on the Joffrey Academy Trainees and Studio Company. Winning Works returns to the MCA's Edlis Neeson Theater (220 E. Chicago Avenue) for three performances, Saturday, March 3 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 4 at 2:00 PM. It was announced today that the hilarious new Broadway musical comedy THE PROM will star Tony Award Nominee Brooks Ashmanskas (Something Rotten!), Tony Award Winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), two-time Tony Award Nominee Christopher Sieber (Shrek the Musical), Caitlin Kinnunen (Bridges of Madison County), Isabelle McCalla (Aladdin), Michael Potts (Jitney), Angie Schworer (The Producers), Courtenay Collins (Broadway Debut) and Josh Lamon (Groundhog Day) and will officially open on Broadway on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at a Shubert theater to be announced.

The Houston Symphony and Music Director Andr s Orozco-Estrada announced today details of the 2018-19 season, which marks Orozco-Estrada's fifth year as music director. Highlights of the season include conducting appearances by world-class violinists Joshua Bell and Itzhak Perlman; the world premiere of Aurora, a violin concerto by Houston Symphony Composer-in-Residence Jimmy L pez; and a semi-staged opera performance of Bart k's Bluebeard's Castle.
