Music Mountain Presents Harlem String Quartet With Fei-Fei Dong and Swingtime Big Band

Music Mountain, America's longest running summer chamber music festival, continues its outstanding 89th season with two returning favorites! Grammy Award winning Harlem String Quartet performs Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms on Sunday, July 29 (3pm). Swingtime Big Band is back on Saturday, July 28 (6:30pm) to thrill audiences with authentic recreations of the timeless music of the swing era! Concerts are scheduled through September 23.

For three Monday evenings in July, ballet fans nationwide can enjoy the Bolshoi Ballet's awe-inspiring performances from the comfort of their local cinemas. The “Bolshoi Ballet Summer Series” brings three classic events back to the big screen for one-evening-only presentations. The series includes Giselle on July 9, featuring ballet superstars Svetlana Zakharova and Sergei Polunin, Alexei Ratmansky's poetic staging of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet on July 16, and classical ballet's most beloved story, born at the Bolshoi Theatre, Swan Lake on July 23. All performances were captured live from the Bolshoi Theatre stage in Moscow, Russia.

The new cast members are Roger Bart as Daniel 'Rooster' Hannigan, Kaylin Hedges as Annie, Ali Stroker as 'Star-to-Be,' Amir Talai as Bert Healy, Marlow Barkley as Kate, Amadi Chapata as Pepper, Noe Lynds as July, Rae Martinez as Tessie, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja as Molly, and Olivia Zenetzis as Duffy.

Nederlands Dans 2 Comes to NY City Center This January

Nederlands Dans Theater 2 will kick off its 2019 U.S. tour with a program of four works at New York City Center, running January 16 - 19, 2019. The program has been revised and will now feature: A New York premiere and a repertoire favorite by house choreographers Sol Leon and Paul Lightfoot, and American premieres by associate choreographer Marco Goecke and Edward Clug.

The adaptation had its world premiere here in 2010 and was heralded as a "delicious production" by The New York Times. As last season's closer, Geva Theatre Center's production of Million Dollar Quartet was a complete sell-out and was extended for an additional week. By popular demand, the show is back for a limited run, special production in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage from June 14 to July 8. With a book by Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott, based on an original concept by Floyd Mutrux and inspired by the music of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins, Million Dollar Quartet is directed by Hunter Foster.

Karamu House, the oldest multicultural performing arts center in the country, closes it's 102nd consecutive season with the Tony Award-winning musical Passing Strange. Karamu House President and CEO, Tony F. Sias notes, 'this is a piece that is important and relevant, and speaks to and engages our millennial and 'genZ' generations.' With book and lyrics written by Tony Award-winning singer-songwriter Stew, and music composed by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, the production opened on May 10 and will run through June 3, 2018 in Karamu's Arena Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio.

New York Youth Symphony Season 2018/19 Announcement

New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of providing an outstanding music education and performance opportunities to students between the ages of 12-22 by launching a new Musical Theater Composition program aimed at diversifying the world of musical theater. The new director and performance information is expected to be announced in summer 2018. Also new in 2018/19 the NYYS Orchestra and Chamber Music Programs will tour together for the first time ever to Spain in 2019, where they will explore cities including Madrid, Granada, and Seville.

Broadway Dreams demonstrated the unifying power of the arts when the internationally renowned performing arts education program sent nine Broadway professionals to Moscow, Russia for the third consecutive year. Through a landmark partnership created between the non-profit organization, the U.S. Embassy, the U.S. Department of State, and Moscow Broadway, Broadway Dreams offered their unique brand of Broadway master classes to 81 Russian performers of all ages during a ten-day intensive program. The collaboration culminated in three public performances at the Lyudmila Ryumina Concert Hall, Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

Final Casting Announced For West End Transfer Of CONSENT

Today (16 April 2018), rehearsals begin for the West End production of Nina Raine's Consent which will begin previews at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 18 May with its opening night on 29 May 2018. Directed by Roger Michell and originally co-produced and commissioned by Out of Joint, this strictly limited 12-week run is booking through to 11 August 2018 following the 2017 critically acclaimed sell-out run at the National Theatre. A series of accompanying pre-show talks and discussions exploring ideas of justice, consent, marriage and modern parenthood will be announced at a later date.
