Sonia Friedman Productions and the National Theatre today (12 March 2018) announce the West End production of Nina Raine's Consent following the 2017 critically acclaimed sell-out run at the Dorfman Theatre. Directed by Roger Michell and originally co-produced and commissioned by Out of Joint, Consent will begin previews at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 18 May for a strictly limited 12-week run. Opening night will take place on 29 May with booking through to 11 August 2018. Tickets for this West End transfer - with over 14,000 priced at £25 or under - will go on public sale on Thursday 15 March 2018 at 10am.

Juilliard today announced that Obie-award winning director Evan Yionoulis, currently professor in the practice of acting and directing at Yale School of Drama and a resident director at Yale Repertory Theatre, will become the school's Richard Rodgers Director of Drama at Juilliardstarting with the 2018-19 academic and performance season. Michael Kahn today announces Shakespeare Theatre Company's 2018-2019 Season. With two world premieres from celebrated playwrights, a multiple Tony Award-winning presentation, a dynamic adaptation of a classic novel, two Shakespeare plays and a group of acclaimed directors and artists, it is an ambitious grand finale for STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn, who will retire from the company at the end of the Season.

As BroadwayWorld sadly reported yesterday, Broadway star Jan Maxwell passed away at 61 years of age after a battle with cancer. The star is survived by her husband, actor/playwright Robert Emmet Lunney, and their son William Maxwell-Lunney.

Today, Canadian Opera Company General Director Alexander Neef was named Artistic Director of Santa Fe Opera by incoming SFO General Director Robert K. Meya, effective October 1, 2018. The announcement followed Meya's own appointment this morning by the SFO Board of Directors, along with English conductor Harry Bicket as Music Director. Neef will continue in his position as COC General Director, in addition to this new seasonal role.

In 2006, Ring of Fire, conceived by William Meade and created by Richard Maltby, Jr. appeared for the first time on Broadway. Its Broadway run was short-lived, but a revised version of it has found popularity in the theatre world, particularly in an intimate setting where the audience can find themselves swept up in the story told by Cash's music.

Grammy Award-winner and two time Emmy nominee Steve Tyrell returns to Cafe Carlyle, April 10-14. Steve Tyrell just celebrated thirteen years of sold out Cafe residencies in the revered holiday slot, having taken over for Bobby Short in 2005. His new album, A Song For You, is out on February 9 via New Design Records and East/West Records. The 12-track release features Tyrell's takes on classic love songs by Van Morrison, Leon Russell, Jackie Wilson, Harold Arlen & Johnny Mercer and more. A Song For You furthers Tyrell's vision of bridging songwriting from the rock era with that of the standards era, placing at its core the fundamental immortality of great songwriting. He'll perform selections from A Song For Youduring this run of shows.

Music Director Thierry Fischer and President & CEO Paul Meecham today announced the Utah Symphony's 2018-19 season, with highlights including the live recording of a Berlioz album for Hyperion Records, semi-staged performances of Bernstein's "Candide" in celebration of the composer's centennial, and a cycle of Bach's six Brandenburg Concertos paired with works by the late composer Pierre Boulez. American composer Andrew Norman will be in Salt Lake City as Composer-in-Association for performances of his works and additional activities.

Today, Goodman Theatre announces the Summer 2018 return of Jim McGrath's Pamplona starring stage and screen veteran Stacy Keach as Ernest Hemingway, directed by Artistic Director Robert Falls. Originally scheduled for Spring 2017, Pamplona appeared for 11 preview performances but closed prematurely after its star suddenly fell ill on Opening Night and doctors ordered recuperation.

It was announced today that the hilarious new Broadway musical comedy THE PROM will star Tony Award Nominee Brooks Ashmanskas (Something Rotten!), Tony Award Winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), two-time Tony Award Nominee Christopher Sieber (Shrek the Musical), Caitlin Kinnunen (Bridges of Madison County), Isabelle McCalla (Aladdin), Michael Potts (Jitney), Angie Schworer (The Producers), Courtenay Collins (Broadway Debut) and Josh Lamon (Groundhog Day) and will officially open on Broadway on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at a Shubert theater to be announced.

The Trustees of The Laurents / Hatcher Foundation, Inc. are pleased to announce that SUGAR IN OUR WOUNDS by Donja R. Love is the recipient of the Laurents / Hatcher Foundation Award. Mr. Love will receive $50,000, and Manhattan Theatre Club, who will present the world premiere in June 2018, will receive $100,000 towards the production.
