Honeck-Moss Productions will present 'In The Works.' This exciting series is an opportunity for composers to try out new work in front of an audience and see how it plays in a supportive environment. It is also an opportunity to create community among the composers and their performers.

An island girl with big dreams and a bigger heart brings her people together in the Tony Award-winning musical (2018 Best Revival of a Musical) Once On This Island. The revival will perform during its limited engagement tour at The Smith Center on March 10-15.

This spring, SoHo Playhouse Inc. (Darren Lee Cole producing artistic director) and F.C.C. (Flow, Create and Connect) will present Wild Dogs Under My Skirt, the award-winning play by Samoan poet Tusiata Avia and directed by Anapela Polata'ivao. Wild Dogs Under My Skirt plays a limited six-week engagement April 16 - May 24 at SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street, NYC). The official opening is Thursday, April 30 at 7:30PM. A Soldier's Play officially opened on Broadway on January 21 for a limited engagement at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street).

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 40 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2020 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 15 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

Announced by Annerin Theatricals earlier this year, the North American tour of the Queen-inspired musical, WE WILL ROCK YOU, which debuted in 2002, returns to New York City this November at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Still rockin' almost two decades later, this production is chock full of the hits you know and love and provides a high dose of energy to get the party started!

Variety reports that 'Frozen 2' stars Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell will be honored with a double Walk of Fame star ceremony.

On this episode of West of Broadway, Lara and Will get to talk to the amazing Adam Pascal who is currently appearing as Harold Hill in the beloved classic The Music Man. Best known for his leading role in the Broadway hit RENT, Adam Pascal will star in 5-Star Theatricals' upcoming production of The Music Man, which runs October 18-27 at the Kavli Theatre in Thousand Oaks, California.

Actor-singer-dancer-choreographer Adam Fleming became a part of Broadway history originating the roles of Sketch in Hairspray and Lucas in Bare. In 2005, he starred in David Brind and Adam Salky's acclaimed short film, Dare, about two teenage boys' tense, spark-filled encounter in a pool following high school play practice. Dare gained a cult following as part of Strand Releasing's 'Boys Life' series and ultimately achieved worldwide popularity via more than 12 Million views on Youtube. The fan fervor (and fan fiction!) eventually inspired a sequel, ten years later. The original and the sequel are now being presented together as The Dare Project and attracting new legions of fans.

The 23rd edition of the Istanbul Theatre Festival, organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) and sponsored by Koç Holding Energy Group Companies Aygaz, Opet and Tüpraş, will take place between 13 November and 1 December 2019.

Hunter's A Bright New Boise, Robert O'Hara's Booty Candy, Thomas Bradshaw's The Bereaved) will present the World Premiere of NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY by Chad Beckim (pictured above). Directed by Shelley Butler, previews begin October 1 at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at The A.R.T./New York Theatres. Opening night is slated for October 8.

Casting has been announced for Queen and Ben Elton's smash hit musical We Will Rock You, which will storm Theatre Royal, Glasgow this December as part of a UK tour.

The cast of 'ANNE FRANK, a musical', based on Anne Frank's life will feature 12 artists on stage to recreate Anne Frank's life filled with the touching music and lyrics written by Jean Pierre Hadida. This production marks the U.S Off-Broadway Premiere of this successful French musical which will be performed for the first time in English (adapted by Dylan Hadida). Directed and produced by David Serero, this new Off-Broadway production will take place at the Center for Jewish History (15 West 16th Street New York 10016), originally produced by Francine Disegni for Broadway Mad Production, Simon & Michal Kalfon.

The cast and creative team are now complete for Todd Allan, Peter B. Allen, Doug Katsaros, and Mathayu Warren-Lane's new musical ROSE'S WAR, an official selection to be premiered as part of the inaugural season of the RAVE Theater Festival. The production will open on August 16th at the LATEA Theater at the Clemente.

Casting has been announced for the brand new 2019/2020 tour of Queen and Ben Elton's smash hit musical We Will Rock You, which will storm the UK and Ireland from 19 September.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie, the smash-hit, critically acclaimed West End musical is to embark on its first UK tour in 2020. Initial casting includes West End star Layton Williams as Jamie New and EastEnders' much-loved Shane Richie as Hugo / Loco Chanelle. Both Layton and Shane will be reprising their roles from the West End production. The tour commences in February 2020 in Sheffield, where the show is set and first opened four years ago.

PCG Universal, a thriving talent organization headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, is expanding its artist development offerings into the professional theatrical development arena. The company has landed Tony Vincent, a recording artist turned Broadway star, to lead the new division.

In 2002, I was indirectly introduced to La Boheme. My introduction came when I was introduced to a musical that had come out and became a phenomenon on Broadway just 6 years earlier. The show quickly became a favorite musical of mine and showed me the impact that theatre can have on people. Since then I've seen Rent multiple times, but did not get the opportunity to see a production of La Boheme until Des Moines Metro Opera's production which opened on June 28. While it would be easy to talk about all the influences La Boheme had on Rent I going to do my best not to, and to focus on this breathtaking production.
