Actor, producer and activist Wilmer Valderrama will headline The ALMAs 2018, a live, televised special celebrating the contributions of Latino artists and influencers. It was also announced today that this year's honorees will include actress and philanthropist Eva Longoria and the cast of Jane the Virgin, including actors Gina Rodriguez, Jaime Camil and Andrea Navedo. Additionally, Parkland survivor and activist Samantha Fuentes and Zero Hour founder Jamie Margolin have been named Trailblazer honorees. The evening will also include performances by Ally Brooke, Amara La Negra and house DJ and FM (Fuse Music) host Cipha Sounds. The ALMAs 2018 will be presented by Fuse and its sister channel FM (Fuse Music) on November 4, 2018 from the event deck of LA Live in DTLA at (8p ET / 5p PT) as a 75-minute special.

When Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected president, his popularity with American Jews inspired this Yiddish joke from a Jewish Republican judge: The Jews now had three velten (worlds), the judge quipped. Di velt (this world), yene velt (the world to come), and Roosevelt. Although the Democratic party has won the majority of American-Jewish votes since the 1920's, the critical issues that motivate Jewish voters, like all voters, also reflect the political climate and a range of priorities. Today, as the country grows increasingly polarized, are Jewish voters becoming more starkly divided as well? Are ideological schisms, gender differences, and generational divisions shaking up the Jewish political landscape too? What can we glean from historical voting trends? And with Jews making up only 2% of the population, why so much interest in the Jewish vote anyway?

Los Angeles Performance Practice presents its annual LAX Festival, which serves as a highly visible platform that supports hundreds of local artists each year, and reaches thousands of audience members in the greater Los Angeles area. The Los Angeles Exchange [LAX] Festival, 6th Ed. will run for ten days from Thursday, October 11 through Sunday, October 21, 2018 at participating venues around town. With performances and events that are geographically focused in and around Downtown L.A., the festival program hosts an eclectic array of contemporary performances by Los Angeles-based artists, presented in dialogue with works by guest artists from outside the city's limits.
