Santa Monica Playhouse has been a cultural treasure in the seaside community for 62 years. Now, the Playhouse is giving love back with its Seventh Annual Binge Free Festival, three weeks of free performances, workshops, and music in Santa Monica's ONLY fringe festival. The BFF's primary focus is on Santa Monica and Los Angeles-based artists, but there will be exciting international artists on view as well.

The 92NY Unterberg Poetry Center’s 84th season will feature a wide range of acclaimed novelists, playwrights and poets, who will visit to read from and discuss highly-anticipated new books – and pay tribute to other great writers. 

Alonzo King LINES Ballet has announced Ballet & Basketball, a conversation with LINES Ballet Artistic Director & Co-Founder Alonzo King and Head Coach of the 2022 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors Steve Kerr. This one-of-a-kind conversation will take place on September 16, 2022 from 7:30-9:00pm at SFJAZZ in San Francisco.

Santa Fe Playhouse’s new Skeletal Series is a three-week festival featuring solo shows by visiting theater artists from around the country. Three vastly different productions run Wednesday through Saturday evenings, with a Saturday matinee. 

The new track follows previously shared album offerings “Too Bad” and “Cursed,” which arrived alongside a double video directed by Quinn Wilson, “For My Friends” and “Little Bother” featuring Fousheé. King Princess produced Hold On Baby alongside Mark Ronson, Ethan Gruska, Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner, Dave Hamelin, Shawn Everett and more.

The Consul tells a timely story about bureaucracy and immigration during turbulent times. Gian Carlo Menotti was himself an Italian immigrant to the United States, and wrote the opera as a response to refugees fleeing Europe after World War II.

The four-piece is made up of Laila Hashemi (keyboardist-vocals), Lexi Funston (guitars/vocals), Staz Lindes (bass/vocals) and David Ruiz (drums, vocals) who together masterfully blend light-hearted playfulness with sharp sincerity over fuzzy guitar, dreamy vocals and punchy, punky rock-n-roll. 'Lizzie' is released with accompanying video.

Out of 163 submissions, the San Diego State University New Musical Initiative has chosen In a Sunshine State as this year's selection. Writers T.C. Lind, Derek Gregor, and Phoebe Kreutz will join with director Stephen Brotebeck, music director Robert Meffe and the SDSU MFA Musical Theatre cohort for a two-year development process and world premiere in the spring of 2024.

The Crucible is a timeless story of the dangers of authority, the problems with the over-reliance of religion, and the value of self-integrity.  EPACs production highlights these themes through an compelling story and a high quality production.
