California Pops Orchestra, celebrating it's 30th season as the country's only all-request pops orchestra, joins forces with the Black Tie Big Band to perform Swingtime at the Pops at Flint Center for the Performing Arts. The Pops' Great American Big Band tribute and a perennial audience favorite features the hits of the 30's, 40's and beyond - when swing was the thing! This concert includes masters of yesteryear such as Ellington, Miller, Dorsey, Goodman, Artie Shaw as well as pieces from newer composers and musicians with the Big Band sound.

The Ford Theatres today announced the 2019 season of events at the John Anson Ford Theatres. The 2019 season will open on Saturday, April 27 with The Spring Quartet: Jack DeJohnette, Joe Lovano, Esperanza Spalding and Leo Genovese, who The Arts Desk described as "an expansive, freewheeling rampage, ideas flying out like sparks from a roaring fire," and will conclude on October 19 and 20 with a Dia de los Muertos Concert and Community Celebration. The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program is proud to present Noel Coward's classic comedy Hay Fever. This madcap play about a weekend with the eccentric Bliss family will star the MFA Class of 2020 and a guest performer.  Director Jerrold Scott's production will take the audience back to the 1920's and remind them of the joy of life and fear of boredom. The show will run from February 27th-March 9th in Helen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

California Pops Orchestra, the country's only all-request pops orchestra, begins the new year with Broadway Hits in Concert at Cupertino's Flint Center, featuring guests pianist Frederick Hodges, vocalists Carly Honfi and Matthew Hall and the Pops Singers. Part of the Pops' 30th season, Broadway Hits in Concert performs one time only on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 3 pm. Creators Jennifer Schwed and Doug Bradshaw teamed up with composer Charlie Barnett to produce a musical that is sweet, earnest, smart, and sensitive. It may be a lofty goal to hope that '19: The Musical' achieves 'Hamilton'-like heights, but, much like the women it portrays, it's certainly up to the task and should not be underestimated.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, continues its 2018/19 season with August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, directed by Writers Theatre Resident Director Ron OJ Parson. Ma Rainey's Black Bottom runs February 6 - March 17, 2019 in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe. The Press Opening is Wednesday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Red Bull Theater today announced the cast for the next REVELATION READING, the New York Premiere of The Shadow of a Doubt by Edith Wharton, directed by Eleanor Holdridge: Emily Brown, Michael Cerveris, Kimberly Chatterjee, Samantha Blaire Cutler, Sanjit De Silva, Adam Harrington, Kathryn Meisle, Amanda Quaid and Brian Wile.  This will take place on Monday January 28th at 7:30 PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets).

Travel back in time to the Roaring '20s at the Leonia Arts' 'Speakeasy', a live benefit jazz concert with the Cenovia Cummins & Friends band to support the organization's 2019 art initiatives. Wolfe's (book) musical interpretation of Joseph Moncure March's once scandalous 1928 poem THE WILD PARTY is an escapist night of deliciously dark debauchery.  The latest production from Little Triangle Theatre is a feast for the senses with fabulous music combining with brilliant choreography and creative costuming.

Cincinnati Opera and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) are pleased to announce that The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded a new grant of $550,000 to renew funding for Opera Fusion: New Works and support two new initiatives to promote diverse voices in the arts.

Molly Yeo began dancing at four years old, while living in North Carolina - moving overseas with her family as an adolescent, where she trained in traditional Indonesian dance, subsequently studying internationally in Jakarta, Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand. Returning to the states for high school, she trained at the Ballet School of Chapel Hill and with Duke University's dance department, ultimately performing with the Chapel Hill Dance Theater and appearing in Carolina Ballet's production of Giselle.

The performances will be presented at the Academy's Page Family Center for Performing Arts, located at 8401 Belvedere Road (33411).

Filming is underway on the fifth series of the acclaimed Bafta award-winning drama Peaky Blinders, which announced its move to BBC One, the nations favourite channel, earlier this year.

Three Tales by Steve Reich, with visuals by Beryl Korot, will open the Long Beach Opera's 40th Anniversary Season, for two performances Saturday, November 3 at 6pm and Sunday, November 4 at 2:30pm at the Ernest Borgnine Theater, Scottish Rite Event Center, in Long Beach, CA.  The production is sung in English, and is conducted by Andreas Mitisek. Three Tales will serve as the centerpiece to Long Beach Opera's 40th anniversary Gala, which will take place following the performance on November 3rd.

Congregation Rodeph Shalom presents four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh starring in a one-night only play reading of DANCING WITH GIANTS on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 p.m. at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, 615 N. Broad Street in Philadelphia. The play was written and will be directed by Tovah's brother, David Feldshuh, a Pulitzer Prize finalist for MISS EVERS' BOYS. The performance is one of the centerpiece events of the synagogue's year-long 90th Anniversary celebration of its sanctuary and is supported by First Trust Bank.

Auditions for Cincinnati Opera's 2019 Young Artist positions will be held at the Corbett Opera Center in Music Hall, 1243 Elm Street, Cincinnati, Ohio on November 2, 3, and 4, 2018.
