West Philadelphia professional theatre, Curio Theatre Company, announced Saturday night that it will be testing CuriosiTix: PLAY It Forward, a new ticketing initiative, for its performances of William Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. CuriosiTix: PLAY It Forward will open Curio's doors in a more radically inclusive way to the community and remove financial barriers to theatre attendance. The London Philharmonic Orchestra today announced its 2019/20 season at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, confirming its reputation for bold, creative and distinctive programming that continues to inspire audiences on a journey of exploration and adventure. The London Philharmonic Orchestra has been performing at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall since it opened in 1951, becoming Resident Orchestra there in 1992.

Public booking for Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Mary Poppins will open at 10am GMT on 28 January 2019. The musical, based on the stories of P. L. Travers and the original film, returns to its original West End home at the Prince Edward Theatre after fifteen years. Mary Poppins will begin previews on 23 October 2019 with opening night on 13 November and initially go on sale until 29 March 2020.

San Francisco Opera presents the West Coast premiere of It's a Wonderful Life by composer Jake Heggie and librettist Gene Scheer in nine holiday-season performances from November 17 through December 9. The two-act work, a co-commission and co-production between San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera and the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, is based in part on Frank Capra's 1946 film It's a Wonderful Life and The Greatest Gift, a story by Philip Van Doren Stern.

The Festival will feature national and international jazz musicians as well as renowned local talent.
