Today, Calexico and Iron & Wine released Years to Burn  via City Slang in the UK/Europe and Sub Pop in the rest of the world. The work of Calexico's Joey Burns and John Convertino and Sam Beam of Iron & Wine, the album is their first full length release and follows the critically acclaimed 2005 In the Reins EP.

Bill Henson and Richard Tognetti Present LUMINOUS With Lior

The Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) is renowned internationally for its ambitious cross-artform collaborations where, under the leadership of Artistic Director Richard Tognetti, it has partnered with film directors, visual artists, surfers and actors to present ground-breaking productions including Mountain, The Reef and Gallipoli. In August 2019, the ACO will continue its exploration of multi-sensory performances as it reunites with one of Australia's most revered and influential artists, photographer Bill Henson, to present Luminous, a musical and visual feast that pairs the music of P teris Vasks, Benjamin Britten and R.E.M. with Henson's hauntingly dramatic photography.

Compagnia De' Colombari Presents MORE OR LESS I AM At Fort Greene Park

Compagnia de' Colombari, an international collective of performing artists founded and directed by Karin Coonrod, presents More Or Less I Am: a music-theater piece drawn entirely from Walt Whitman's revolutionary free verse long poem, 'Song of Myself,'one of the original twelve pieces that comprise his 1855 collection Leaves of Grass. The next performance in this series, spanning multiple venues throughout the five boroughs, will take place on Sunday, May 26, 2019, 7:30 pm at Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn.  

The Starting Line Announces 'EST: 1999 Music + Stories' Tour

Philadelphia-bred rock band The Starting Line have announced EST: 1999 Music + Stories, the band's summer, fall and winter tour celebrating its 20th anniversary. Visiting a number of markets the band hasn't performed in since 2008, the upcoming run will feature full live shows with sets spanning the band's entire catalog, along with storytelling detailing the band's history and narratives behind the songs. The band will visit markets such as Los Angeles, CA on July 20, Cleveland, OH on September 13, Denver, CO on November 15, Dallas, TX on November 16 and more.

Electronic Dream Pop Group Amycanbe Releases 'White Slide' EP

Dream-pop quartet Amycanbe has released their new EP, 'White Slide' (19th April) via Open Productions. Amycanbe have been creating and releasing music since 2002 on a regular basis. Their 2011 album, 'Mountain Whales' was mixed by Mark Plati (David Bowie, Prince, Robbie Williams, The Cure) who also features on their brand new EP. Amycanbe's music can be heard as part of several film soundtracks such as Acciaio (2012), Savaged (2013), and Strassenkaiser (2016), as well as being featured on television shows like Finding Carter, MTV's Catfish, Web of Lies and Royal Pains including reality television programs like My Giant Life, How To (Not) Kill Your Husband, Top Chef Stars and High Infidelity. With a busy live performance schedule, Amycanbe has graced stages at Santarcangelo Dei Teatri Festival, Disorder Festival, Eboli, Miami Festival in Milan, and Percuotore La Mente Rimini with a sold-out performance at Petrella Longiano, multiple tours in the UK, most notable at 12 Bar Club in London, Jamm Brixton, and Borderline London where they've also supported notable acts like Skin, Sophia, The Devastations and Morcheeba.

Queer|Art, NYC's home for the creative and professional development of LGBTQ+ artists, is pleased to announce the new Mentors for the 2019-2020 program cycle of Queer|Art|Mentorship (QAM). Applications open May 12th.The Mentorship program is the cornerstone of Queer|Art's activity, providing a platform of support for LGBTQ+ artists focused on creative issues and long-term sustainability of artistic practice. Naumburg Foundation presents Cellist LEV SIVKOV, winner of the 2015 Naumburg cello competition, on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at 7:30pm in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.  Sivkov, a native of Russia currently lives in Switzerland where he is principal cellist of the Zurich Opera Orchestra. Salt Lake's Gifted Music School Quartet To Appear On NPR'S From The Top

The Bear Quartet of The Gifted Music School in Salt Lake City, Utah will appear on an upcoming episode of From the Top, the hit NPR radio program featuring America's best young classical musicians. The show will air on Classical 89, Saturday April 27 at 11 AM and by podcast at fromthetop.org beginning April 22. The broadcast features performances and interviews with outstanding young musicians and Guest Host Peter Dugan. The show was taped at the Hollywood Scoring Studio in Los Angeles on February 24, as part of a three-day From the Top residency, comprised of creative music making, career development, and community engagement, designed to enrich both personal and artistic growth for thirteen young musicians from throughout the country.

Organizers of Jam In The Trees, The Pisgah Brewing Outdoor Stage Series, and HoosierDevil are proud to announce Strings & Suds, a two-day music event held at Pisgah Brewing Company's legendary taproom and outdoor stage on August 23rd and 24th, 2019. The first-annual Strings & Suds, which derives its name from a former Pisgah Brewing event held in 2013, will feature Tex-Mex troubadours The Mavericks, roots music mainstays Donna the Buffalo, double-neck guitar slinger Junior Brown, the King of Americana himself, Jim Lauderdale, and mandolin-wielding songstress Sierra Hull. Additionally, Strings & Suds will featureFrank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, YARN, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, Danny Burns, East of Monroe, and Ashley Heath and Her Heathens. Fans should be sure to expect special artist collaborations and sit-ins each night.

Arizona Broadway Theatre Hosts Sixth Annual Broadway Ball

On Saturday, March 2, the Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT) community gathered to celebrate The Sixth Annual Broadway Ball, raising more than $135,000 to benefit the nonprofit theatre and its artistic, educational, and charitable programs.  More than 250 guests turned out for the elegant event, co-chaired by Lisa Platt and Kristin Wurr.
