Acclaimed actress and writer Maureen Lipman is to direct the world stage premiere of Jack Rosenthal's The Knowledge.

Today it was announced that comedian Jon Oliver would be joining the cast of the upcoming live-action remake of Disney's The Lion King in the role of Zazu.

As The Music Center wraps up its 14th season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, Angelenos have the opportunity to see some of the world's finest dancers perform a mix of iconic ballets and new pieces in The Music Center's BalletNOW.  Following the popularity of the first BalletNOW in 2015, The Music Center commissioned this highly innovative three-performance program, featuring international ballet sensation and New York City Ballet Principal Tiler Peck as curator.  Peck created a mixed repertory to highlight the versatility and athleticism of today's ballet dancers including pieces that pair classical dancers with their contemporaries in other dance genres. 

The world premiere of a spanking new version of the Tim Rice musical comedy Blondel gets its London premiere at the Union Theatre, now through Saturday 15 July. Press night is tonight 23 June 2017.

Skylight Music Theatre today announced the director/choreographer and lead performers for this holiday season's production of Annie. This seven-time Tony Award-winning musical runs from November 17 through December 23, 2017 in the beautiful Cabot Theatre at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Producers have announced the cast for the world premiere of a spanking new version of the Tim Rice musical comedy Blondel.

A brand new version of the Tim Rice musical comedy Blondel, which follows the trials and triumphs of an ambitious minstrel in King Richard the Lionheart's court, will get its London premiere at the Union Theatre from Wednesday 21 June - Saturday 15 July.

Offering "Everything Changes" from the musical Waitress, with music and lyrics by recording artist Sara Bareilles ("Love Song"; "Brave"; "King of Anything"), Tony and Grammy award-nominated Michael McElroy and BIV release the tenth video in this series May 5th.

The one and only Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker and classic Swan Lake celebrate 25 years of touring North America bringing world renowned Russian ballets and artists to audiences in cities and towns, large and small. The “2017 Peace and Puppets Tour” features Moscow Ballet's singular “Dove of Peace” character, created by 2 dancers moving as one bird, which opens Act II's “Land of Peace and Harmony.” (not the traditional “Land of Sweets”) This production also includes the use of small puppets in Act I's Party Scene and whimsical 10 foot tall puppets in Act II's Variations. The Moscow Ballet version of the 5 Variations represent the major heritages of the world: Hispanic, African, European, Asian and Slavic/Russian living in peace and harmony.

The California Symphony today announced its 2017-18 season, its thirty-first, and its fifth with Music Director Donato Cabrera. The season includes a world premiere and a West Coast premiere, first performances of Mozart's Requiem and Sibelius's Third Symphony, the first performances in more than 20 years of Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, Pastoral, and Mahler's Symphony No. 4, the first performance of a work of Mahler's since the Orchestra's 1997-98 season. The Orchestra also welcomes guest soloists Haochen Zhang in Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2; soprano Maria Valdes in Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915 and in Mahler's Symphony No. 4; and Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 with Alexi Kenney. The Orchestra gives the world premiere of new Young American Composer-in-Residence Katherine Balch's newest work, a California Symphony commission; and performs two works by Bay Area-based composer Nathaniel Stookey: the West Coast premiere of YTTE (Yield to Total Elation), and The Composer is Dead, the popular orchestral whodunit by Stookey and author Lemony Snicket, with Broadway star Manoel Felciano as narrator. Other highlights include performances with the San Francisco Conservatory Chorus and conductor Ragnar Bohlin of Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Arvo Pärt's Te Deum, as part of the Mozart Requiem concert, and a performance of Smetana's Vltava (Die Moldau).

Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Mike Isaacson will be presented The Commercial Theater Institute's Robert Whitehead Award for 'outstanding achievement in commercial theatre producing' at a reception at Sardi's on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
