Since 2015, piano-pop trio Jukebox The Ghost has turned their love of Queen into a holiday spectacular and a music festival every Halloween. HalloQueen is a two-set extravaganza featuring one full set of Jukebox the Ghost originals, and another set of Queen's greatest hits, complete with Queen regalia and an arena-sized performance to match.

Metromaniacs aren't people who are crazy about subways. They are people who are nuts about poetry, i.e. verse composed in meter. David Ives' play The Metromaniacs is an English language adaptation of a French farce from 1738, La Metromaie, and it is set in Paris in that year, a moment when there was a particular craze for poetry. Ives' play is performed in English, in rhyming couplets.

The Volkshtheater has won another award at the 59th Berlin Theater Meeting. This year, the EUR 5,000 Alfred Kerr Actors' Prize goes to Volkstheater ensemble member Samouil Stoyanov for his performance in the production 'humanistää!' directed by Claudia Bauer. (Claudia Bauer received 3rd prize for this.) Actress Valery Cheplanowa, juror for this year's Alfred Kerr Actors' Prize, made her decision after seeing the ten productions invited to the 59th Theatertreffen.

Lyric Named Official Theatre of Oklahoma

Lyric Theatre has been named the Official Theatre of the State of Oklahoma. Gov. Kevin Stitt signed Senate Bill 1385, authored by Senate Democratic Leader Kay Floyd and House Majority Leader Jon Echols, bestowing the honor for the flagship theatre founded in 1963.

Today, The Bentonville Film Festival unveiled their distinguished Competition Jury, singularly dedicated to inclusive representation in media and entertainment. The festival, produced by the BFFoundation and chaired by Academy Award-winning Actor Geena Davis, will take place in-person June 22-26 and virtually June 22-July 3. The illustrious group of jurors is composed of award-winning producers, directors, actors and authors, including actor Yolonda Ross, film and television producer Bird Runningwater, actor Shohreh Aghdashloo, writer and filmmaker Justine Bateman, among others. The Festival is sponsored by Founding Partner, Walmart and Presenting Partner Coca-Cola.

The Juilliard School will hold its 117th commencement ceremony on May 20, 2022, at 10:30am. The ceremony will be held outdoors on the Lincoln Center campus in Damrosch Park, presided over by Juilliard President Damian Woetzel. Westport Country Playhouse will stage the comic satire, “Straight White Men,” by Young Jean Lee, from May 24 through June 5, directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director. The show’s 2018 Broadway run made Lee the first Asian American female playwright to have a work produced there. The cast includes Richard Kline, who was a series regular on television’s “Three’s Company” as Larry Dallas. The production reunites Kline and Lamos, who were classmates at Northwestern University. Others in the ensemble are Bill Army, Denver Milord, Nick Westrate, Akiko Akita, and Ashton Muñiz.
