The Flat Rock Playhouse continues the 2018 Mainstage Series with the lighthearted and thought-provoking comedy, The Love List by Norm Foster. A master of weaving together comedic timing and witty remarks within a tender story of love and discovery, Norm Foster also wrote The Affections of May which appeared on the Flat Rock Playhouse stage in 2016.

Featuring internationally renowned cellist Inbal Segev, the Castleton in Performance (CiP) concert will offer classical works by Philippe Gaubert, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Antonin Dvorak.

Summer is here and the Flat Rock Playhouse is ready to celebrate by transporting the beach to the mountains with upcoming Music on the Rock Concert, Carolina Shag! Celebrating the musical phenomenon that developed in the early 50's on the Carolina Coasts, Carolina Shag will feature upbeat beach music from artists such as The Embers, The Tams, Chairmen of the Board, The Drifters. Carolina Shag, a genre sometimes known as the "swing of the South", promises all the lighthearted fun of a lively summer night at the beach, perfect for experts and rookies.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. Enrollment is open until June 17 and fans can sign up for the course at musicals.tcm.com.

MasterVoices - dedicated to the art of musical storytelling and the celebration of the human voice - presents a free performance of a new version of the dramatic oratorio Naamah's Ark by composer Marisa Michelson and librettist Royce Vavrek, on Sunday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Rockefeller Park. Helen Olaketi Mariah Shute-Pettaway, a 2011 First Night Honoree and one of Nashville's most revered actresses, will take on the iconic role of Regina Giddens in the ACT 1 production of Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes. The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) is pleased to announce the 2018 MAC Award nominees. The nominees, in a majority of the categories, were determined by votes cast by the active MAC membership. The MAC Board of Directors selected the nominees for Show of the Year. Special committees selected the nominees in the Ensemble Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Instrumentalist, Piano Bar Singing Entertainer (Female; Male), Recording (LaMott Friedman), Major Recording, Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories. The names of the songwriters in the Song and Comedy/Novelty Song categories are being withheld during the voting period, but will be announced publicly as soon as the voting period concludes.
