Classic Stage Company kicks off its 2019-20 season on Thursday, October 10, when previews begin for artistic director John Doyle's new staging of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, opening October 27 and running through December 15 at the Lynn F. Angelson Theater at CSC (136 E. 13th St, New York). Today CSC announces that Timothy Douglas will direct Tristan Bernays' retelling of Frankenstein (beginning January 30), which the company will pair with Kate Hamill's reimagining of Dracula (starting January 14), directed by Sarna Lapine, to form a thrilling repertory cycle of adaptations of two legendary Gothic nightmares by emerging playwrights.

The lines between myth and reality become increasingly blurred in Defenders. When Iceland was threatened with invasion by Germany in WW2, the allies decide to step in. The world premiere from Pandelia's Canary Yellow Company by Cailin Maureen Harrison, and directed by Reena Dutt, follows three American G.I.s who are shipwrecked on the remote island of Hrisey off Iceland's northern coast. The stranded G.I.s find themselves with missing weapons, few supplies, and a broken radio. They realize they must rely on the locals for survival but, like current-day warfare, the locals fear the loss of their culture, their women and their safety with the presence of foreigners on their land. Defenders opens on November 9, with performances continuing through December 8 at The Broadwater Black Box in Hollywood. One lower-priced preview takes place on November 8.

Having had a successful Workshop read through at the Actor's Temple in New York City in 2018, Fractured Time Productions is happy to be producing the World Premiere Production of 'Dora Versus Picasso' at the Drayton Arms theatre, London, from 26th - 30th November.

Lightning strikes at Serial Box with the launch of Thor: Metal Gods, the first of several original serialized fiction and audiobook series based on Marvel Comics to debut on the premium reading and audio entertainment platform. Designed for on-the-go fans, Thor: Metal Gods will be available on mobile devices beginning December 12. Composer / conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct the New York Premieres of Mr. Salonen's Gemini and Hindemith's Rag Time (Well-Tempered); J.S. Bach's Two Chorale Preludes (orchestrated by Schoenberg); and Hindemith's Mathis der Maler Symphony. The program will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 8 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, November 9 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, November 12 at 7:30 p.m.

The Segal Centre is proud to continue its mission of developing and premiering new musical theatre works with top Canadian talent with a new pop/rock musical about the Greek goddess Persephone. Directed by Brian Hill and featuring a high-energy score filled with epic anthems by Marcus Stevens and Oran Eldor, the North American premiere of Mythic will be in the Sylvan Adams Theatre from October 27 to November 17, 2019.

Classic Stage Company today announces new additions for the thrilling repertory cycle of adaptations of two legendary Gothic nightmares by emerging playwrights, kicking off 2020. Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George, Little Women) will direct Kate Hamill's reimagining of Dracula (starting January 14), and Tristan Bernays' adaptation of Frankenstein will start January 30.

Daniel previously directed ANW's Ovation Award and Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award-nominated production of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun for the theatre's 2017-2018 season.
