Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces the cast for the North American premiere of Jessica Swale's exuberant new comedy Nell Gwynn, September 20-November 4, 2018. The music- and dance-filled play took London audiences by storm when it debuted at Shakespeare's Globe, followed by a celebrated run on the West End. Director of the original London production, Christopher Luscombe, helms the new Chicago Shakespeare production. Star of Broadway and the West End Scarlett Strallen appears as Nell; Chicago leading actor Timothy Edward Kane performs the role of King Charles II.

Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA) announces the full casting for its first show of the 2018/19 season, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. This Tony Award-winning play is adapted by Simon Stephens, based on the book by Mark Haddon and directed by Steppenwolf Artistic Producer Jonathan Berry.

The Play Company (PlayCo), led by Founding Producer Kate Loewald and Managing Director Robert G. Bradshaw, today announces the complete cast for Toshiki Okada's Time's Journey Through a Room, marking PlayCo's third collaboration with Okada, translator Aya Ogawa, and director Dan Rothenberg, May 10 - June 10, 2018. This haunting play, set in post-Fukushima Japan, will star three Japanese born performers, all of whom are now based in New York: Yuki Kawahisa (Honoka), Maho Honda (Arisa) and Kensaku Shinohara (Kazuki). The play is both an intimate examination of how we move forward from life-altering events, and a study of how we experience time, asking whether we can ever be alive to the present moment.

PROVEN INNOCENT follows an underdog criminal defense firm led by a fierce and uncompromising lawyer, who was wrongfully convicted in a sensational murder case that made her an infamous media obsession, a household name and a national cause celebre. The drama stars Rachelle Lefevre ('Under the Dome,' 'A Gifted Man'), Vincent Kartheiser ('Mad Men'), Russell Hornsby ('Seven Seconds,' 'Grimm'), Brian d'Arcy James ('13 Reasons Why,' 'Spotlight') and Tony Award winner Nikki M. James ('BrainDead,' 'The Good Wife,' 'The Book of Mormon').

Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece Long Day's Journey Into Night  comes to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts for a limited three-week engagement from Friday, June 8 through Sunday, July 1. Richard Eyre's acclaimed Bristol Old Vic production stars Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons(Brideshead Revisited, Reversal of Fortune,  'The Borgias') and Olivier Award winner and Oscar nominee Lesley Manville(Another Year,  'Harlots,' Phantom Thread). Matthew Beard (The Imitation Game, The Riot Club), Rory Keenan (BBC's 'War & Peace,' 'Peaky Blinders') and Jessica Regan (reprising the role as Cathleen from the 2016 Bristol Old Vic production) round out the ensemble cast.

This haunting play, set in Japan after the Fukushima disaster, stars the Japanese-born, New York based performers Yuki Kawahisa (Honoka), Maho Honda (Arisa) and Kensaku Shinohara (Kazuki). The play is both an intimate examination of how we move forward from life-altering events, and a study of how we experience time, asking whether we can ever be alive to the present moment.

It's Elementary! The Theatre Fellowship of Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church is presenting Ken Ludwig's farcical mystery-comedy 'The Game's Afoot,' winner of the 2012 Edgar Award for Best Mystery Play of 2012. Fledgling Theatre Company, under the Artistic Direction of Matthew Dalton Lynch has announced dates for the New York Premiere of Ted Bacino and Rufus Cadigan's THE SHAKESPEARE CONSPIRACY, a new play (based on Mr. Bacino's book of the same title) that explores the greatest literary deception of all time. The production is directed by Jeremy Karafin and will run April 20th - May 5th in the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). The official opening will be on Tuesday, April 27 at 7:30PM. It will run as part of the first annual BATTLE OF THE BARDS: THE CHRISTOPHER MARLOWE FESTIVAL, a new six week festival that features two original plays about William Shakespeare & Christopher Marlowe and chronicles the life that Marlowe would have lived as a fugitive, hiding not only his gay sexuality, but also his identity as the actual author of Shakespeare's works.
