Symphony Space opens its 2013-14 Music season with 'Kurt Weill on Broadway,' tonight, October 7 (8 pm) at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. Today marks the 70th anniversary of the Broadway opening of Weill's One Touch of Venus. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced that 2013 Tony Awarda winner Billy Porter will be honored at its 10th Anniversary Gala to be held on Sunday, November 10th, at the Hudson Theater in Manhattan. The Gala will also celebrate NYMF's 10 years of creating and nurturing new musical theatre.

Casting has been announced for The Hub Theatre's Fall production of David Yee's, carried away on the crest of a wave. The ensemble includes Nora Achrati, Ed Christian, Hedy Hosford, Andrew Ferlo, Rafael Sebastian Medina, and Ryan Sellers. All who will be called on to play multiple roles.

The performances will feature American University alumni, current students and a student from BRAVO@KAT, the children's wing of Kensington Arts Theatre. This is the first academic production of Signs of Life.
