On Saturday, October 12th, noted arranger and producer, Fred Barton, whose work is heard regularly in concert halls around the country, is celebrating composer Richard Rodgers on the Schimmel stage. Fred Barton, his 12-piece orchestra and star-studded cast of performers are back to celebrate the legendary Richard Rodgers! The extraordinary icon's career spanned six decades, during which he composed 40 Broadway musicals. Fred's tribute to the versatility of Richard Rodgers will prove a revelation to those familiar with his biggest hits: Oklahoma!, South Pacific, Carousel, and The Sound of Music. You'll hear Richard Rodgers from his razz-ma-tazz roots to his later masterworks, created with a number of star lyricists. Join us as we journey from Broadway to Hollywood and back, celebrating the incredible music and tales of Richard Rodgers!

Featuring the 12-piece Fred Barton Orchestra and including appearances by Broadway stars, Broadway vet Nora Mae Lyng (Into the Woods, Dirty Blonde, Cabaret, Orignal star and producer of Forbidden Broadway), Tari Kelly (Anything Goes, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Boy from Oz), Karen Murphy (A Little Night Music, 9 to 5, All Shook Up) as well as Damon Kirsche On a Clear Day You Can See Forever) and cabaret performer Jesse Luttrell, as well as Anastasia Barzee (Miss Saigon, Jekyll & Hyde, Urinetown, City Of Angels), Jeffry Dernham (YANK, White Christmas, Crazy for You), David Elder (Curtains, 42nd Street, Kiss Me Kate), Joshua Henry (Porgy & Bess, Scottsboro Boys, In the Heights).

Fred Barton was in the original cast and music-directed Forbidden Broadway. His Broadway and national tour conducting credits include: Cabaret with Joel Grey; Zorbawith Anthony Quinn; Camelot with Robert Goulet; and City of Angels. His symphonic arrangements are played regularly at Carnegie Hall and by orchestras nationwide. He has numerous credits as television composer, lyricist, book writer, and music director.
