Actors Co-op Theatre Company (Ovation Award-Winner 2017 Best Play, Intimate Theatre for 33 Variations) presents the first show in its 27th Season with the thriller ROPE, written by Patrick Hamilton, directed by Ken Sawyer, produced by Kevin Shewey.  ROPE will preview on Thursday, September 20 at 8pm and will open Friday, September 21 at 8pm and run through Sunday, October 29 at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre, 1760 N. It will play September 5 through September 16 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.  

ZACH Theatre announces an exciting new season add-on and schedule change for the 2018-19 Season. Back by popular vote, Texas' brassy blue Governor Ann Richards will return to the stage next summer with the hit play, ANN running on The Topfer July 31-September 8, 2019 under the direction of original Broadway Director Benjamin Endsley Klein. With the summer stage appearance of the saucy Ann Richards, that loveable East Berlin gender bending rocker Hedwig will now kick off the new year moving Hedwig and the Angry Inch to January, running January 23-March 3, 2019 in The Topfer under the direction of Kevin Cahoon.

For the past several summers, I have attended the Festival of Arts and The Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. But this year, I also decided to also visit two other art festivals along Laguna Canyon Road rather than spend any time cruising the town as I had done before. The full-day of exploring all the artistic delights on display this year at all three locations left me dazzled by all the talent on display, while wishing I had lot of extra income to purchase and bring home many of the awe-inspiring items that caught my fancy. But the real highlight of the day was viewing the abundance of 'local color' on display in this summer's 'Under the Sun' themed Pageant of the Masters.

Goodman Theatre announces a line-up of free staged readings written by members of its Playwrights Unit-a year-long residency for Chicago-based writers to develop their plays-in-progress with the Goodman's artistic team, in partnership with Chicago Dramatists. Noted American conductor Jason Tramm and the Long Island Concert Orchestra will launch the 59th Season of the Morgan Park Summer Music Festival on Sunday July 1st in Glen Cove, New York. The concert program entitled Americana will feature a dynamic and dazzling selection of great American music performed by the Long Island Concert Orchestra (LICO). Accompanying the orchestra will be internationally renowned soloists soprano Indira Mahajan and baritone Jorell Williams.

Folks Operetta's 2018 season kicks off with Emmerich Kalman's operetta The Csardas Princess, July 7 - 22, playing at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. The Csardas Princess features the book written by Leo Stein and Bela Jenbach with music by Emmerich Kalman and an English translation by Hersh Glagov and Gerald Frantzen. The Folks Operetta version is directed by Gerald Frantzen and conducted by Mark Taylor. Opening night is Saturday, July 7 at 7:30 p.m. The regular performance schedule is Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $40 for adults, $35 for seniors (65 years and older) and $25 for students (with student ID).

WIESENTHAL tells the powerful true story of Simon Wiesenthal, often called the "Jewish James Bond," a Holocaust survivor who, after cheating death at the hands of Hitler's S.S., spent his life bringing to justice the most notorious war criminals in human history. This provocative solo performance, written and performed by Tom Dugan and directed by Jenny Sullivan, is an uplifting and highly entertaining one-man show that unfolds like a gripping spy thriller, telling how Wiesenthal devoted his life to bringing more than 1,100 Nazi war criminals to justice after WW II.

On Wednesday, May 16, Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) unveiled its brand new Watchfire LED marquee, installed by Going Sign & Servicing Company Inc. of Plainview, N.Y., with a special lighting ceremony that was a part of the nonprofit performing arts organization's  20th anniversary celebration.

The Harry Potter Film Concert Series returns to Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Concert, the third film in the Harry Potter series. On November 9th & 10th, 2018, the North Carolina Symphony will perform this magical score live from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban while the entire film plays in high-definition on a 40-foot screen.

Folks Operetta is proud to announce its 2018 season and a new fundraising campaign, The Korngold Initiative. All of these projects are part of their new Reclaimed Voices Series, which focuses on recovering and reviving the lost music of the Jewish composers of the Second World War.

The National Trust has announced that almost 1,000 events have been registered for the 2018 Australian Heritage Festival.  The nation-wide Festival is the largest and longest-running grassroots festival celebrating Australia's historic, natural, indigenous and multicultural heritage. Now in its 38th year, the Australian Heritage Festival invites Australians to engage with their culture and heritage through a dynamic program presented across all States and Territories from 18 April to 20 May, 2018. The Festival is supported by the Australian Government through the National Trust Partnerships Program.
