The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) today announced that David Foster, renowned musician, songwriter, composer, arranger and producer, will be recognized with the 2019 Humanitarian Award. ShowKids Invitational Theatre had a pair of award winners at the 2018 NJACT Perry Awards Sunday night at the Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) in Rahway. Cast members Natalie Mehl and Jonah Lione both earned best acting honors for their magical performances as Mary and Bert in SKIT's production of Mary Poppins.

According to Baz Bamigboye of The Daily Mail, Matthew Dunster will direct a new production of Sam Shepard's True West, which will preview at the Vaudeville Theatre from November 23.

Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.

London Musical Theatre Orchestra is proud to announce its 2018 season which features three spectacular musicals in concert: Tony Award-winning Camelot by Lerner and Loewe at the London Palladium; Girlfriends, composed by Emmy Award-winner Howard Goodall and starring Lucie Jones and Lauren Samuels, at Bishopsgate Institute; and the return of festive favourite A Christmas Carol at the Lyceum Theatre.
