San Francisco Playhouse celebrates the magic of the holiday season with the hit Broadway musical Mary Poppins. Susi Damilano will direct the Playhouse production, with music direction by Katie Coleman and choreography by Kimberly Richards.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. Drabinsky in association with Peter LeDonne and Teatro Proscenium Limited Partnership.

With Christmas around the corner, Freeform's beloved “25 Days of Christmas” programming event begins on DEC. 1. This year's holiday lineup event includes the premieres of Freeform Original Features “Life-Size 2,” with Tyra Banks and “grown-ish”'s Francia Raisa from airing SUNDAY, DEC. 2, at 9:00-11:00 p.m. EST/PST, and “No Sleep 'Til Christmas,” with Dave and Odette Annable airing MONDAY, DEC. 10, at 9:00-11:00 p.m. EST/PST. Additionally, the network will premiere the “Pop Up Santa Holiday Special” on MONDAY, DEC. 3, at 9:30-11:00 p.m. EST/PST, bringing Christmas cheer in unexpected places, and a new installment of “Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings: Holiday Magic” on SATURDAY, DEC. 8, at 8:00-9:00 p.m. EST/PST. Freeform joins ABC, Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior in celebrating “25 Days of Christmas” across all networks.

I recently had the opportunity to interview Tony Clements, Creative Director for Harmony Japan, New York. A native of Waterford, Wisconsin, Tony spent much of his early theater years in Milwaukee. He has been with Disney on Classic since 2007 and brings a very special perspective to navigating a career as multi-hyphenate artist.

Following his Tony Award winning performance in Hello, Dolly, Gavin Creel takes to the New York concert stage to share an intimate evening of songs that explore his love for all things Broadway. Widely recognized as one of the most gifted performers of his generation, Creel pays homage to the American musical songbook by offering his own interpretations of beloved classics as well as tales of his time treading the boards. Anniversaries are times to reflect, to evaluate, but also to celebrate. Yesterday with its 60 Years of Musical Theatre: The Best of Maine State Music Theatre gala concert, the Brunswick theatre pulled out all the stops with a big, beautiful Diamond Jubilee gala that proved a stunning culmination to this milestone season. And indeed, six decades after Victoria Crandall launched her dream at the Pickard Theater on the Bowdoin College campus, MSMT can boast numerous reasons to celebrate its history, as well as its present accomplishments and future aspirations. In a matinee and evening stagings that featured musical performances by twenty-one soloists and an ensemble of ten, as well a number of spoken tributes, Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark architected a program that was classy, heartfelt, and rich and deep in the talent it showcased. As with any commemorative event, the program tapped into nostalgia and memory but blended these with a strong sense of the vigorous, energetic, imposing presence this company has become - not only in Midcoast Maine but also as a force in national regional theatre.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the selection of four Honorees who will receive the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements, and a special Honors distinction for a work of art and its co-creators. Recipients to be honored at the 41st annual national celebration of the arts are: singer and actress Cher, composer and pianist Philip Glass, Country music entertainer Reba McEntire, and jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter. This year, the co-creators of Hamilton-writer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire-will receive a unique Kennedy Center Honors as trailblazing creators of a transformative work that defies category.
