To raise money for music and children's charities, concert pianist Anthony Hewitt - the Olympianist - will cycle with piano 'in tow' from Land's End to John O'Groats to complete 1,200 miles in 21 days. With a piano trailing in the BeethoVAN, the avid cyclist will cover up to 100 miles a day, giving 27 concerts en route. The Herculean journey across Britain's hilly countryside will see Anthony ascend more than 20,000 metres - the equivalent of more than twice the elevation of Mt. Everest. He will perform in established venues and remote locations with his piano on a pop-up stage on the back of the BeethoVAN.

The latest piece of ambitious new writing at Theatre503 will be the politically fuelled EleXion, showing at the venue in May. This production, which has been co-authored by the emerging playwrights on the 503Five resident writer programme (Chloe Todd Fordham, Brian Mullin, Vinay Patel, Ella Greenhill and Neasa O'Callaghan), will explore the cross section of British experiences leading up to the General Election. Chavez), will present Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet at the historic Rancho Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park in Sonoma County throughout August/September 2016. A milestone season, it's both We Players' Sweet Sixteen and Shakespeare 400 when companies around the world commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death in 1616. We Players honors both occasions with a return to Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, it's own very first production in 2000. We Players will celebrate with a season of Romeo & Juliet inspired events. Prior to the full-scale production of the play at this California State Park, We Players will present the elaborate prelude and elegant masquerade ball - The Capulet Ball - at several unique and stunning venues throughout the greater Bay Area. The Capulet Ball is conceived as a performance integrated party where guests are invited to the Capulet's home for a masquerade ball complete with delicious drinks, edibles, live music, and dancing. Guests are invited to bring their own masks, or be decked out by We Players, and join the Capulet family (along with the masquerade crashing Mercutio, Benvolio and Romeo) on the dance floor. Attire is festive and fabulous!

A star-filled concert kicked off the evening, with songs from the most beloved musicals including South Pacific, West Side Story, On The Town, Carousel, and more, written by the hilarious, award-winning playwright Jonathan Tolins (playwright of Buyer and Cellar and Bay Street's hit comedy The Forgotten Woman). Entertainment included Broadway star and East Hampton resident Howard McGillin (Mystery of Edwin Drood, Gigi, Bay Street's My Fair Lady and Grey Gardens) performing 'Some Enchanted Evening' and 'Something's Coming'; German and Australian star Sarah Bowden (Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, A Chorus Line at the Hollywood Bowl) and Cory Lingner performed 'Whatever Lolo Wants' with special thanks from Mary Callahan and Nicole Fosse from The Verdon Fosse Legacy; choreographer Joshua Bergasse who recreated his Tony nominated staging of 'New York, New York' from On the Town; and Robert Fairchild, former Principal Dancer New York City Ballet and starred in An American in Paris on Broadway performed 'Kansas City'; Phyre Hawkins performed 'Come Rain or Come Shine'; Nick Cearley and Wayne Alan Wilcox performed a medley from Guy and Dolls; Other performers include Bay Street Acting Apprentices Kara Arena, Lewis Elliott, Allison Gray, Meghan LeFlam, Anthony Sims and Phillip Young.
