A cast list has been announced for Pioneer Theatre Company's Concert Production of La Cage aux Folles, the beloved gender-bending musical comedy and winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical. La Cage aux Folles is the only Broadway musical to win the Tony for Best Revival twice, and is the source material for the hit film The Birdcage. The concert-style production runs just three performances, March 15 and 16, 2019, and is an add-on to PTC's 2018-2019 season.

Jenny Topper and Theatre Royal Bath Productions today announce full casting for the world premiere of The Nightingales which will see Steven Pacey, Stefan Adegbola, Sarah Earnshaw, Philip McGinley and Mary Stockley join previously announced BAFTA Award-winning television star and writer Ruth Jones in her highly anticipated return to the stage. The production, directed by RSC Associate Artist Christopher Luscombe and written by William Gaminara, will run at Theatre Royal Bath from Wednesday 31 October to Saturday 10 November, with opening night for press on Wednesday 7 November. The Nightingales will then tour to Cambridge, Cardiff, Chichester and Malvern prior to a West End transfer, with venue and dates to be announced.

Celebrated stage impresario, Tony Spinosa, has spent the past four weeks in the Valley, training nearly forty local performers to dance in Valley Youth Theatre's (VYT) upcoming production of, Newsies, running August 10 through August 26, at the Herberger Theater Center. The production is presented by Valley Toyota Dealers and sponsored in part by Edward Jones.  It is directed by VYT's Producing Artistic Director of 22 years, Bobb Cooper.

Arthur Laurents was best known for his work as librettist on Gypsy and West Side Story, but was also well known as a playwright, having won a Tony Award® for Hallelujah, Baby! in 1968. Later as a director, he was Tony-nominated for Gypsy in 1975 (and the 2008 revival) as well as the original 1984 La Cage Aux Folles.

New Line Theatre is all over Amazon these days. The company has had a small presence on the retail site for years, with New Line's original cast album for Out on Broadway in 1996, the company's 10th anniversary commemorative book You Could Drive a Person Crazy; and artistic director Scott Miller's musical theatre books. But that presence has increased quite a bit recently.

The 72nd Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 10th at 8/9c hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. This weekend Beauty and the Beast took The Hollywood Bowl by storm when an all-star cast featuring Zooey Deschanel (Belle), Taye Diggs (Gaston), Rebel Wilson (LaFou), Jane Krakowski (Mrs. Potts), Anthony Evans (Beast), and Kelsey Grammer (Lumiere) performed songs from the film in concert. Opera Saratoga's Artistic and General Director Lawrence Edelson announced that the company's 2018 Summer Festival will feature new productions of four operas at The Spa Little Theatre in Spa State Park, along with a wide variety of free and ticketed concert events from May 26 through July 15 at venues throughout the region.

The full cast for The 5th Avenue Theatre's spectacular new production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which stars Deaf actorJoshua Castille as Quasimodo, has been announced. Castille will use American Sign Language (ASL) throughout his performance, bringing new life and perspective to Quasimodo, who is deaf in the novel by Victor Hugo.

Single tickets are now on sale for the inaugural REPRISE 2.0 production of Sweet Charity. Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, the classic Broadway hit plays from June 20 to July 1 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. REPRISE 2.0 is led by producing artistic director Marcia Seligson.
