According to an article published in the New York Times, they reported that 'Renee Fleming has announced that she will be retiring from the opera stage,' stating that her final performance will be of 'Der Rosenkavalier' at the Metropolitan Opera on May 13th. However, the NPR now reveals new information that the diva is not quitting just yet.

Three years later, Fleming, who's starring in Richard Strauss's 'Der Rosenkavalier' at the Met, will give her final performance on the afternoon of Saturday, May 13.

This spring, the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) presents a series of exhibitions showcasing three dynamic moments in fashion that emphasize history, practice, and critique. Judith Leiber: Crafting a New York Story is the first major survey in over 20 years of the designer's iconic career. Counter-Couture: Handmade Fashion in an American Counterculture will spotlight handmade fashions from the 1960s and 1970s, while fashion after Fashion will examine contemporary fashion as a conceptual and critical practice through works by Eckhaus Latta, ensaemble, Lucy Jones, Ryohei Kawanishi, Henrik Vibskov, and SSAW Magazine.

On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Pier 60, the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) will hold its annual gala celebrating outstanding individuals in the arts and design fields. For 20 years, the MAD Ball has recognized visionaries in the worlds of business, arts, philanthropy, and creativity, reflecting MAD's mission to celebrate innovation and excellence across all creative disciplines. This year's Visionaries! Awards will honor design advocate, patron, and longtime MAD Trustee Charles S. Cohen; the late architect Zaha Hadid; Italian design innovator MISSONI; and conceptual artist Yinka Shonibare. Hosted by Simon Doonan, the 2016 event will bring together 500 guests, including art patrons, artists, designers, and noted corporate and civic leaders, and will introduce the Museum's new Nanette L. Laitman Director, Jorge Daniel Veneciano.

Acclaimed American soprano Renee Fleming performs in recital with pianist Olga Kern on Wednesday, March 9 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The program includes Robert Schumann's Frauenliebe und -leben, Op. 42, Debussy's Ariettes oubliees, and a selection of songs by Rachmaninoff. Ms. Fleming and Ms. Kern close their program with five songs by jazz musician and composer Patricia Barber.

Heightening its role as a powerful commissioning force, Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center - The Music Center's acclaimed dance series - is introducing an exciting new chapter in dance with the world premiere of BalletNow, an original three-performance program for which American Ballet Theatre Principals Roberto Bolle and Herman Cornejo are serving as artistic directors. Bolle and Cornejo have formed an international ensemble of 18 major dancers from 12 foreign countries for three distinctive performances, with many of the dancers performing at The Music Center and in Southern California for the first time.

Second Stage Theatre has announced two New York Premiere productions for its upcoming 37th season. The season will kick off in fall 2015 with the New York Premiere production of Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews' new musical, INVISIBLE THREAD (previously titled Witness Uganda), in association with American Repertory Theater, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Finding Neverland, Pippin). The season will continue in early 2016 with the New York premiere of Lydia R. Diamond's (Stick Fly) critically acclaimed play, SMART PEOPLE, directed by Tony Award Winner Kenny Leon (Fences, A Raisin in the Sun, Stick Fly). Two additional productions remain to be announced.
