The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music celebrates the 50th anniversary of its legendary Musical Theatre program with a Birthday Cabaret at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 in Patricia Corbett Theater. The Glimmerglass Festival will present the world premiere of Blue, a new opera by Jeanine Tesori and Tazewell Thompson that dives into the emotional epicenter of a black couple coming to terms with the sudden death of their teenage son. The production will open in July 2019 as part of the company's 2019 Festival.

Garth Fagan Dance has four premieres up its sleeve for its Joyce Theater engagement, November 7-12. Two of the new dances, In Conflict and Estrogen/Genius, are by Fagan, the Tony-winning choreographer of The Lion King; the other two premieres, Wecoo Duende and A Moderate Cease, are by the company's long-time dancer and Fagan muse Norwood Pennewell.

Kitchen Theatre Company launches its 2017-2018 Season with Smart People, a sharp and provocative new comedy by Lydia R. Diamond. Summer L.
