Today, Buckland Theatre Company has announced casting for LUV, the company's second production at PARK90 at Park Theatre. Directed by Gary Condes, Nick Barber will play Milt, Elsie Bennett will play Ellen and Charles Dorfman will play Harry. Written by Murray Schisgal (best known for co-writing the screenplay for Tootsie), LUV premiered on Broadway in 1964 directed by Mike Nichols and was Tony nominated for Best Play and Best Author. LUV will play at PARK90 from 8 Decemberuntil 7 January with an official press night on 13 December.

Buffman has had 29 Tony Award nominations, won the New York Drama Critics' award for ‘Best Musical', was awarded the very first Florida Ambassador of the Arts, the Distinguished Achievement Award from Wharton School of Business, ‘Entertainer of the Year' award from the Governor of Louisiana, and Decade Achiever's Award from the National Polo Association. He was the recipient of ‘Man of the Year' in Miami, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Miami Beach, Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Palm Beach. He also won ‘Producer of the Year' in Washington, D.C. and Florida (six times).

Golden Girl and former Broadway star Rue McClanahan, has sadly passed away at 1am today, June 3rd at the age of 76 according to her manager. McClanahan, who suffered a stroke in January, is said to have had another massive stroke early this morning.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 8 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Mr. Brown was selected to receive the 2011 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer Robin Wagner will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. Sadly, Mr. Brown passed away in January of 2011. His award will be accepted by his long-time colleague and friend, Albert Wolsky, who was the recipient of the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award
