American singer-songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and producer Jonny Polonsky presents his new 'Kingdom of Sleep' LP and the new video for his latest single 'Ghost Like Soul' featuring Cedric Bixler-Zavala (The Mars Volta/ At The Drive-In), directed by Paul Elledge, a legend in the world of professional photography with work featured in publications as diverse as Rolling Stone and Forbes.

From February 27 to March 15, Theater for the New City (TNC) will present comedian/actor/broadcaster Donald E. Lacy Jr. updating his one man show, 'ColorStruck,' a bittersweet examination of how cultural assumptions drive American society. Since national politics provide a never-ending supply of new material, the piece is continually reshaped. The velocity of change since TNC presented the show's New York debut last year (Feb-March, 2019) has inspired Lacy to initiate a new version that reflects pressing current events.

The GRAMMY AWARDS Premiere Ceremony took place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 26, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. PT. Preceding the 62nd Annual GRAMMY AWARDS telecast, the Premiere Ceremony was hosted by two-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee Imogen Heap and featured a number of performances by current GRAMMY nominees. Ahead of the upcoming 25th anniversary reissue of their iconic album Monster, R.E.M. have launched an interactive web experience which allows fans to A/B the 2019 remixed album against the remastered 1994 original by toggling between the two. Through the web application, fans can stream the advance singles “Let Me In” and “What's the Frequency, Kenneth?” (logging in through their preferred streaming platform) and sample 30 seconds of each of the remaining album tracks. Starting on Monster 25 street date, November 1, all songs on the album will be available to play in their entirety.

R.E.M. have revealed a new mix of “Let Me In,” taken from the upcoming 25th anniversary reissue of Monster, due for release November 1st. Remixed by original Monster producer Scott Litt, “Let Me In” sees Michael Stipe's original vocal transformed, bringing the nuances of his performance to the fore of the mix.

A five-CD, one-Blu-ray deluxe box set will include the original album, a special 2019 remix from Monster producer Scott Litt, a CD of previously unreleased demos from the album and a complete live 1995 performance captured in Chicago. The accompanying Blu-ray will offer Monster in both hi-resolution audio and 5.1 Surround Sound, as well as a host of video content: the 90-minute film Road Movie, which documents R.E.M.'s 1995 tour, and all six music videos from Monster. The collection will be packaged in a five-and-a-half-inch portfolio book, featuring liner notes by journalist Matthew Perpetua—with new insight from band members—and archival photographs. An expanded edition of Monster, offering the original album and the 2019 remixed version, will also be available on two 180-gram vinyl LPs or two CDs, both featuring reimagined cover art by longtime R.E.M. designer Chris Bilheimer. The remastered album will also be available as a standalone 180-gram vinyl LP, with Bilheimer's original Monster art.

The GRAMMY Museum® Grant Program announced today that $200,000 in grants will be awarded to 15 recipients in the United States to help facilitate a range of research on a variety of subjects, as well as support a number of archiving and preservation programs. Research projects include work on musical anhedonia, musical training's relationship to complex memories, and the relationship between cognitive function and singing accuracy. Preservation projects include the archiving of uncirculated John Hartford jam tapes, 960 audio reels of Cajun and zydeco artists, and 221 rare interview recordings with African-American actors, performers, composers, musicians, and scholars, among many other preservation projects.
