Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and piece by piece productions, in association with Rising Phoenix Repertory, have announced that tickets are on sale to the world premiere Ren Dara Santiago's The Siblings Play, which marks the professional debut of the Fila-Rican playwright. Directed by Jenna Worsham (Agnes), The Siblings Play gives voice to multicultural New Yorkers rarely seen on the stage with breathtaking theatricality, stinging poignancy, biting humor, and deep empathy. The Siblings Play runs March 4-April 5, 2020, at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place) with an opening night of March 18.

At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the iconic Lionel Hampton Big Band Featuring Jason Marsalis, current GRAMMY nominee Catherine Russell, the Birdland debut of AGUAS Trio with Omar Sosa, Yilian Cañizares and Gustavo Ovalles, and iconic vocalist Jane Monheit. Internationally recognized trumpeter Rachel Therrien, the Seth Weaver Big Band, and The Voice contestant Melinda Rose Rodriguez will also be performing upstairs.

Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, commences the second half its 2019-20 season with the ultimate whodunit thriller, Sleuth. The world-class production will be performed in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, Playhouse Square, February 14 - March 8, 2020. Great Lakes Theater's Producing Artistic Director, Charles Fee, directs the production.

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) has announced that Big Bang Improv, a Sarasota Improv Festival favorite, will return to Sarasota the first weekend of January 2020 for a special residency. During their time at FST, the group will perform two improv comedy shows and lead two workshops. Big Bang performances will take place on Friday, January 3 and Saturday, January 4 at 7:30PM in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre. Each year, the Phoenix Rock Lottery features a lineup of musicians from diverse backgrounds and musical styles. These musicians deliver a totally unique experience for fans due to the unpredictable nature of the event. The participating musicians show up on the morning of the Rock Lottery each year with no idea who they will be in a band with, what style of music they will play, or what songs they will perform, since the songs will be written that day. 

Galerie XII Los Angeles (www.galeriexii.com) is celebrating its first anniversary with the solo exhibition of world-renowned, Milan-based photographer Paolo Ventura. LAByrinth Theater Company (John Ortiz, Artistic Director; Aaron Roman Weiner, Associate Artistic Director) announces the selections for their 20th Annual Barn Series, the award-winning company's developmental play reading series. This year's series features seven new plays written and directed by LAB company members and friends. Kim Katzberg's NY Innovative Theatre Award-winning play Dad in a Box is back for one night only! A prestigious improv comedy workshop seems like an ideal career boost for Katzberg, until she finds her fervid imagination hamstrung by generic critiques. '...Suicidal girl on a date? I'm not sure it's a network thing.' But the real improvisation starts when Katzberg's emotionally-distant father dies, paralyzing her psyche and forcing her to confront her California-cool brother and erratic, prodigal sister. Dad in a Box, a darkly comedic, multi-character, semi-autobiographical, solo play, follows queer theater artist Kim Katzberg as she struggles to gain access to her emotional core, while processing the impending death of her abusive father. The story traces Katzberg's efforts, through wildly inventive pieces in improv class, to prod and shock herself into facing and confronting her father's emotional hold on her.

Just in time for the holidays, The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) welcomes the return of the always-thrilling Dorrance Dance for three weeks of merriment and cheer. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's classic THE MAGIC FLUTE opens this week at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday November 16, 2019; under the baton of James Conlon (with Grant Gershon conducting on December 1, 12 and 15). This will be the third LA Opera mounting of 1927 and Barrie Kosky's avant-garde THE MAGIC FLUTE merging animation with live performance. I had the chance to present a few questions to Bodgan Volkov, who's making his Los Angeles Opera debut as Tamino, the prince and current bearer of the magic flute.

Magic Of The Holidays, the mind-blowing holiday spectacular that showcases the jaw dropping talents of the most incredible illusionists on earth. On June 18, 1983 Dr. Sally Ride, an accomplished astronaut and physicist, became the first American woman in space as a crew member on Space Shuttle Challenger for STS-7. Now, playwright Liza Birkenmeier uses this unforgettable time in history as the backdrop for her latest production. Birkenmeier took the time to chat with BroadwayWorld about the upcoming show.
