The Annenberg Center and NextMove Dance present PHILADANCO's eagerly anticipated holiday tradition, Xmas Philes. Xmas Philes pairs PHILADANCO's colorful contemporary dance with popular Christmas songs, with choreography by Daniel Ezralow (How the Grinch Stole Christmas). Festive, joyous and spiritual, Xmas Philes is uplifting holiday entertainment for all ages and faiths. With a tapestry of holiday music, Xmas Philes mixes traditional and contemporary versions of holiday classics in a modern dance setting with Hollywood flavor. Wacky, funny, and somewhat ironic, Xmas Philes lifts spirits with hilariously memorable moments.

Coming off the incredibly strong performance of its “31 Nights of Halloween” programming, Freeform kicks the holidays into high gear with the announcement of the beloved “25 Days of Christmas” lineup beginning on DEC. 1. As the go-to network for holiday-themed original content and beloved classics, this year's festive lineup includes the premieres of Freeform original feature “Ghosting: The Spirit of Christmas,” with “The Bold Type” star Aisha Dee and “The Guest Book”'s Kimiko Glenn, airing WEDNESDAY, DEC. 4, at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST. “Good Trouble” will air a two-hour holiday episode on MONDAY, DEC. 16, at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST, with the full cast of “The Fosters” guest starring. Additionally, the network will debut the timeless Christmas classics of Rankin-Bass with “Frosty the Snowman” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” on FRIDAY, DEC. 6, at 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. EST/PST, respectively. Adding some friendly competition to your Christmas cheer, back-to-back installments of Freeform original holiday series “Wrap Battle” will air on MONDAYS at 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. EST/PST, with the finale airing MONDAY, DEC. 9. Freeform also released its first-ever “25 Days of Christmas” jingle, featuring Freeform Santa and “Good Trouble” star Emma Hunton. As the Halloween season comes to a close, Freeform will continue to be the home for all holiday viewing with the second year of the “Kickoff to Christmas” programming event, starting on Friday, Nov. 1. With a month full of holiday fun, this year will also include two new Freeform originals. The film “Turkey Drop,” from Muse Entertainment, will air Saturday, Nov. 23, at 9:00-11:00 p.m. EST/PST. The original holiday competition series, “Wrap Battle,” will air Monday, Nov. 25, at 9:00-11:00 p.m. EST/PST.

Beyond belief lies the heart of science fiction and this fall, fans of the genre will assemble at the inaugural Dystopia Sci-Fi Con, a new interactive event featuring a cinematic lineup of sci-fi, cyberpunk, virtual reality, and future noir alongside special guests, panels, exhibitors, and more. The gathering will also host the first half of The 8th Annual Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival, a thriving platform for independent film in honor of acclaimed novelist Philip K. Dick. A number of celebrated actors, filmmakers, and speakers will appear including David Brin, Barney Burman, Elizabeth Karr, Julianna Robinson, Tim Russ, Saku Sakamoto, M.D. Selig, and John Alan Simon. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the event will run from November 8-10, 2019.

Canadian Brass are the grand masters of the holidays, crisscrossing the globe every December, bringing their hallmark gifts of virtuosity and old-fashioned fun. On Tuesday, December 11 at 8:00pm, they come to the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya). Beginning in 1970, Canadian Brass rescued these sometimes-overlooked instruments and placed them center stage. They have entered America's living rooms on The Tonight Show, Entertainment Tonight, and Sesame Street, and when they're back up north, they are called upon to perform for visiting heads of state by invitation of the Canadian government.

Casting is now complete for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Annie. The new cast members are Roger Bart as Daniel 'Rooster' Hannigan, Kaylin Hedges as Annie, Ali Stroker as 'Star-to-Be,' Amir Talai as Bert Healy, Marlow Barkley as Kate, Amadi Chapata as Pepper, Noe Lynds as July, Rae Martinez as Tessie, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja as Molly, and Olivia Zenetzis as Duffy.

The Muny announced today its full cast, design and production teams for the theatre's centennial season closing production of Meet Me In St. Louis, August 4 - 12. 

It has just been announced that stars Ana Gasteyer as ("Miss Hannigan') and Megan Hilty ("Lily St. Regis.") have joined the cast of the upcoming Hollywood Bowl production of ANNIE, which will take place Friday, July 27, at 8 pm, Saturday, July 28, at 8 pm, and Sunday, July 29, at 7:30 pm.

Come hear these former child actors sing songs from the shows they were in and hear untold stories about what it's like balancing school, homework, and just being a regular kid with regular kid problems. Known across the world for her powerful voice and perfect pitch, Lea Salonga has been announced for the role of Grace Farrell in Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Annie, one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history, which will be this summer's annual staged musical at the Bowl.  

The Old Globe, together with Children's Theatre Company (CTC), and in partnership with The Old Vic, today announced details for the Minneapolis and San Diego productions of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax in its U.S. premiere. The production, based on the book The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, is adapted for the stage by David Greig (Artistic Director of the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company; recent work: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Cover My Tracks) with music and lyrics written by Charlie Fink (Frontman/songwriter for the hit musical group, Noah and the Whale (2007-2015). H. Adam Harris, along with Meghan Kreidler and Rick Miller puppeteering, will play The Lorax. Joining them is Steven Epp as The Once-ler. Playing multiple roles in the ensemble are Ansa Akyea, Christopher Becknell, Stephanie Bertumen, Brian Bose, Ryan Colbert, Lynnea Doublette, Johannah "Joh" Easley, Rajane Katurah, Ryan Lear, Ryan Dean Maltz, Emily Michaels King, and Autumn Ness.

NBC Shares Primetime Ratings for Week of 12/25-12/31

Highlights from the show include magical jokes, a versatile set and props that all appear to be straight out of Seuss' book, and awesome moments of audience participation. The musical is fast-paced, with a relatively short running time and no intermission. A definite must-see for families with young children.
