The Oratorio Society of New York, led by Music Director Kent Tritle, presents the 46th Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition Finals Concert at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 1:30pm. The Solo Competition was created in 1977 to encourage the art of oratorio singing and to give young singers an opportunity to advance their careers.

The Fisher Center at Bard and its renowned annual Bard SummerScape festival both celebrate their 20th anniversaries this year. “A hotbed of intellectual and aesthetic adventure” (New York Times), SummerScape returns to New York's Hudson Valley this summer with seven weeks of live music, opera, music-theater, and more, in the Frank Gehry-designed Fisher Center and other venues on the idyllic Bard College campus (June 23–Aug 13).

A special Charity Performance will take place on Friday, April 14 of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the iconic and record-breaking Broadway production that will end its history-making run that week. 

Jennifer Holliday, the Tony and Grammy Award-winning original star of Dreamgirls, appeared on Tamron Hall for a special performance of “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going.' What did our critic think of HADESTOWN at Rochester Broadway Theatre League? This touring production of 'Hadestown' could not have been better cast, with each performer taking turns captivating the audience and delivering lush, emotional musical performances.

The album was recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios. Hussell’s band on the album features bass player Tim Lefrebvre (David Bowie, The Black Crowes, Tedeschi Trucks Band), who also produced the album. Sonically, the LP features a grab bag of loop-based funk and psychedelic synth rock, tinged with comedic elements.

Smuin Contemporary Ballet’s season finale is headlined by soaring works that highlight the company’s artistry and depth of talent, including the latest world premiere from acclaimed choreographer Amy Seiwert.

Dance of the Mystic Bliss also marks Blake’s recording debut (as a leader) on flute, an instrument he spent time woodshedding during lockdown. Following a seven-year hiatus from the music business, singer/songwriter Julie Neumark is back, this time as half of Whiskey Flower, a new Americana-pop duo she formed with bass guitar player, Holly Lucille. Their debut EP, “Righteous Indignation,” features four original songs and one cover, exploring a variety of themes.
