On May 13, the Metropolitan Opera will present the company premiere of Australian composer Brett Dean’s Hamlet, a bold adaptation of Shakespeare’s timeless drama, with six additional performances through June 9.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced the cast and company for King Lear opening 10 June - 24 July.

Thom Pain (based on nothing), a play by Will Eno, has been announced for the 2022 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Directed by Bryan Keith and performed by Johnny Patrick Yoder, there will be five performances only at the Broadwater Second Stage: Sunday 6/5 at 5:30pm (preview); Saturday 6/11 at 7:30pm; Thursday 6/16 at 8pm; Wednesday 6/22 at 5pm; and Saturday 6/25 at 12:30pm. Running time is 70 minutes.

Fiery Seahorse Productions will present the 2022 Reading of Chicagoan Marie Yuen's adaptation of 'Ye-Xian: The Chinese Cinderella' (working title 'C2'), on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Chinese American Museum of Chicago - Raymond B. & Jean T. Lee Center, 238 West 23rd Street, in Chicago's Chinatown, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK has a book and lyrics by John Dempsey and music by Dana P. Rowe, based on the novel by John Updike and the Warner Brothers motion picture. Thirty-six years after founding Chicago Shakespeare Theater and paving the way for the Tony Award-winning company to become one of the nation’s leading theaters, Barbara Gaines has announced her plan to step down as Artistic Director in 2023.

Shakespeare’s Globe has announced the full cast for the 2022 Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production of Macbeth, directed by Sarah Frankcom. This marks Sarah’s directorial return following her tenure as Artistic Director of LAMDA. 

Having had to shut down the production of Bruce Norris' seminal play Clybourne Park at final dress rehearsal in March 2020, Trish Wadley Productions and David Adkin, in association with Park Theatre, have announced that the production, originally planned for the play's 10th anniversary year, will open at the venue in March.
