Partial Comfort Productions (Samuel D. Hunter's A Bright New Boise, Robert O'Hara's Booty Candy, Thomas Bradshaw's The Bereaved) will present the World Premiere of NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY by Chad Beckim (pictured above). Directed by Shelley Butler, previews begin October 1 at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at The A.R.T./New York Theatres. Opening night is slated for October 8.

During this year's Season Release Bash at Park & Field, Artistic Director and Co-Founder Michael Patrick Thornton and Associate Artistic Director Emjoy Gavino announced The Gift Theatre's 2020 Season will include: a revival of Martin McDonagh's masterpiece THE PILLOWMAN; the Chicago premiere of Naomi Iizuka's drama AT THE VANISHING POINT, directed by Lavina Jadhwani; and the world premiere of Jennifer Rumberger's drama THE LOCUSTS, commissioned and developed by The Gift.

The French Institute Alliance Fran aise (FIAF), New York's premier French cultural and language center, today announced the 2019 Crossing the Line Festival, featuring 11 performances and a gallery exhibition from a geographically, generationally, and artistically diverse group of artists whose work transcends genres and boundaries. All performances are world, US, or New York premieres; they are united by their convention-breaking fearlessness as they confront topics from social injustice to personal demons. Many of the performances pay homage to legendary artists of our time and previous eras, while the theme of migration and its transformational effects on identity informs several others. The festival runs from September 12 to October 12. Ticket are available at crossingtheline.org.

Scott Mescudi , better known by his stage name Kid Cudi has joined the growing cast of the much anticipated third installment of Bill & Ted. Mescudi joins previously announced cast Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves, William Sadler, Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine. Mescudi has a significant role, though details are being kept under wraps.

Alison Cook-Beatty, Founder and Artistic Director, has performed with the Paul Taylor Dance Company and Taylor 2, among other companies and choreographers in New York City. Los Angeles-based musican Geographer will tour North America this spring with special guest Manatee Commune. The tour kicks off on May 17 and includes shows in Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Chicago, Washington, D.C, New York, Atlanta and more. All upcoming shows are listed below. In anticipation of upcoming tour Geographer shared the official video for 'Summer Of My Discontentment' from the recently released New Jersey EP with The Bay Bridged. The video which was directed by Patrick Mattes can also be viewed at YouTube. About the video Mattes says, 'Geographer's 'Summer Of My Discontentment' is a music video about the moments in between. This video was shot over the course of a day and a half with four friends running around greater Los Angeles. We wanted this video to be an organic representation of adolescence, growing up, and the moments that help define us as human beings. To keep the filming aspect of this video as organic as possible we shot everything with a documentary style. Allowing the friends to exist in a space and capturing moments that made them unique.'

IATI Theater in a co-production with The Box Collective presents Hurricane Sleep, a new female-centered experimental play about trauma and how healing begins with the most intimate self to reverberate through dimensions of time and being, written and co-directed by Andrea Goldman. Julia Watt and Goldman co-direct a cast of five, including George Bass*, Shashwat Gupta, Neysa Lozano, Rachel Schmeling and Heaven Stephens*. Ten performances will be staged at IATI Theater from May 2-12, 2019.

A co-presentation with Mount Tremper Arts, the final installment of Yamazaki's Darkness Odyssey series, is a non-operatic dance celebrating the bridge between 'this self' and 'the other self.' Bessie Award winning Yamazaki magnifies the ever-changing state and process of 'becoming' while encouraging exchange between performers from different dance practices, and cultural backgrounds.
