TAP CITY, THE NEW YORK CITY TAP FESTIVAL will return for its 23rd year Monday, July 3 through Saturday, July 8, with special events, local and international tap dance artists, choreographic residencies, and master classes.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts will present Broadway's Brian Stokes Mitchell for one night only on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 8 pm.

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's Producing Artistic Director Michael Baron has been named a recipient of a 2023 Helen Hayes Award for his work co-directing THE MUSIC MAN last year at the Olney Theatre Center in Maryland.

Violet, the poignant, uplifting award-winning musical that took Broadway by storm, opens June 7 at TheatreSquared (477 W. Spring St., Fayetteville) and runs through July 2.

What do you get when you have a ballet dancer who dreams of making it professionally and showing the world that guys can dance too?  You have a real-life Billy Elliot story, which is happening to someone who played the titular role of Billy on the West End back home in the UK, and is now here in the US studying and training in professional ballet making his dancing dreams a reality! Not only does he dance, but he has done a few acting roles as well and even participated in a professional opera as a dancer. He is taking the role, and making it his real-life story!   At the end of the musical, we see Billy leaving his home and family to head off for training at the Royal Ballet School, so this is like getting to see the story continue beyond the stage!  Broadway World Detroit got a chance to catch up with Brodie Donougher, the last person to play the role of Billy, and see what he’s up to since his days on the West End stage 7 years ago!

This year Summer in the Park sees free dance performances and experiences presented in outdoor spaces across Greenwich and Bexley, featuring roller-skate themed Summer Sessions at Greenwich Park and Cygnet Square alongside local Park Picnics in some of the boroughs hidden gems.

Award-winning comedian, actress, and author, Iliza Shlesinger will make her highly-anticipated return to Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas with back-to-back shows of her new tour, “Hard Feelings,” this fall. St. Ann's Warehouse, responding to extraordinary demand for tickets, has announced a three-week extension of Monsoon Wedding, the Musical, Mira Nair's live theatrical adaptation of her landmark film. The new production, featuring actors and theater-makers from India and the global Indian diaspora, welcomes audiences inside the lavish wedding plans and frenzied leadup to an arranged marriage beset by modern tensions. Preview performances begin at the Brooklyn waterfront theater on May 6.
