AstonRep Theatre Company, under the new artistic leadership of Derek Bertelsen and Sara Pavlak McGuire, is thrilled to announce its 2018-19 Season, kicking off this fall with Martin McDonagh's dark comedy THE LONESOME WEST directed by Company Member Dana Anderson. This winter, the season continues with AstonRep's 10th ANNUAL WRITERS' SERIES, a daylong festival of workshops from talented local and regional writers. The season concludes next summer with Rebecca Gilman's drama THE CROWN YOU'RE IN WITH, directed by Co-Artistic Director Derek Bertelsen.

In 2005, Charlayne Woodard wrote a play entitled Flight. Set in 1858, on a Georgia plantation, a young mother is suddenly sold, leaving behind her husband and their five-year-old son. Through a magical evening of storytelling, music and dance, their community shares the rich history that makes them so much more than slaves. Sharing this rich oral tradition not only comforts the father and son, but heals and strengthens the entire community; the audience has the privilege of going along for the ride.

“Celebrity Ninja Warrior for Red Nose Day” returns with a star studded line up as a part of NBC's fourth annual Red Nose Day celebration on Thursday, May 24 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT). With “American Ninja Warrior” hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila at the helm alongside Kristine Leahy as co-host, the show will feature celebrities from all walks of entertainment as they attempt to overcome the famed obstacle course. For the first time, host Akbar Gbajabiamila will take on the course he has seen so many ninjas face, all to support Red Nose Day and its mission to end child poverty.
