New Line Theatre Announces Season Tickets for the First Time!

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," has announced that for the first time in its history, New Line is selling season tickets, for its 27th season of adult, alternative musical theatre, including the St. Louis premiere of the four-woman rock opera LIZZIE, a very different take on the Lizzie Borden legend, running Sept. 28-Oct. 21, 2017; followed by Cole Porter's satiric masterpiece ANYTHING GOES, running March 1-24, 2018; and the St. Louis premiere of the world's first bio-historical musical comedy, YEAST NATION, written by the Urinetown team, running May 31-June 23, 2018. Tickets go on sale Aug. 1. All New Line's mainstage shows will be in the company's home, the Marcelle Theater, in Grand Center, St. Louis' arts district. (more...)

The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds was the brainchild of a public school science teacher turned playwright, Paul Zindel. The work won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, and the Obie Award for best American play. Generations of audiences are familiar with the film version from 1972, which was directed by Paul Newman and starred his wife, Joanne Woodward and their daughter, Nell Potts. Magician Mat Franco Unveils Namesake Theater Marquee at The LINQ Hotel & Casino

Yesterday (July 10, 2017), magician Mat Franco  had the honor of unveiling his new namesake marquee, Mat Franco Theater at The LINQ Hotel & Casino, which was renamed by the center-Strip resort in celebration of his continued career success. Kicking off the milestone afternoon, the property's regional president, Eileen Moore welcomed the crowd of invited guests and fans before inviting Mat to help her in unveiling the venue's new signage. "Today's a special day for us here at The LINQ, because we're able to rename The LINQ Theater in Mat's honor and really put a world-class stamp on our property," shared Moore. (more...)
