The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is offering Broadway's biggest hit, plus amazing concerts and memorable special events for every entertainment preference, from classical music to razzle dazzle dancers, from international performing artists to musical favorites from the Great American Songbook, along with several fascinating talks and lectures throughout the month of February.

The 2020-21 Carnegie Theatre Season will be filled with laughter, nostalgia and a few surprises. Audiences will be introduced to a fast talking plant, relive a jam session at the historic Sun Records, celebrate traditions in changing times and experience the debut of a new script by a local arts leader.

Mozart knew a thing or two about how to please an audience. The great German composer wrote his Piano Concerto No. 22 to be performed in 1786 during Lent when the theaters and opera houses were closed in Vienna in observance of the Christian season just prior to Easter. But the previous December, he gave a workshop performance during the intermission of an oratorio titled Esther by composer Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Broadway production designer Peter Larkin has passed away. He was 93 and died at his home in Bridgehampton, New York, after a brief illness, according to Deadline.

Porchlight Music Theatre announces the next production in its 25th Anniversary season: the New Faces Sing Broadway series. Oscarâ-nominated Production Designer Joe Alves, best known for his work on Close Encounters of the Third Kind and the three Jaws films, will receive the Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) Lifetime Achievement Award at the 24th Annual ADG 'Excellence in Production Design' Awards. A true veteran of Hollywood's studio system, Alves is a master artist, art director, production designer, producer and director. The 2020 ADG Awards will return to the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown in the Wilshire Grand Ballroom on Saturday, February 1, 2020. This is the first of four Lifetime Achievement Awards to be announced by the Art Directors Guild.

Craft Recordings is pleased to announce the release of the vinyl box set edition of The Legendary Prestige Quintet Sessions from The Miles Davis Quintet on November 8th. Celebrating the 70th anniversary of Prestige Records, the deluxe six-LP set presents the quintet's marathon sessions for the iconic jazz label, recorded between 1955–56, which resulted in classic albums such as Cookin', Relaxin', Workin', and Steamin'. Plus, the box set offers a bonus LP with audio from radio and TV appearances by the group. On October 10, the newly-established Athens Philharmonic performs a special concert under the direction of Yiannis Hadjiloizou The Philharmonic is joined by the NY Choral Society and soloists Larisa Martínez and Daveda Karanas. Cortland Repertory Theatre closes their 48th annual summer season of professional live theatre with a BANG with the rockin' and rollin' musical Million Dollar Quartet, written by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux. Performances will run from August 28 – September 13 with evening show times at 7:30. Nederlander Presentations, Inc., has just announced that Shereen Ahmed will be Eliza Doolittle and Laird Mackintosh will be Henry Higgins in the upcoming North American tour of Lincoln Center Theater's critically-acclaimed production of Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY. Directed by Bartlett Sher, the tour will tech and launch in Syracuse, NY before officially opening at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Official Press Opening is Thursday, December 19.
