BWW Review: A CHORUS LINE at Signature Theatre
by Elliot Lanes - Nov 12, 2019

I am often asked what my all time favorite Broadway musical is. I always reply A Chorus Line. I consider it to be a perfect musical in every way. The show's original director/choreographer Michael Bennett captured the heart and soul of the dancer so beautifully in what I consider to be his masterwork. Marvin Hamlisch's music and Edward Kleban's lyrics were and still are one of the most inventive theatre scores ever written. James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante's book (based off of taped interviews of Broadway dancers conducted by Bennett) frame the songs to sheer perfection. Paul's monologue in the show is actually based on Dante's true story.

BWW Review: A CHORUS LINE Not Quite a Singular Sensation at MainStage Irving-Las Colinas
by Zac Thriffiley - Nov 8, 2019

While the current production of A CHORUS LINE at MainStage Irving-Las Colinas works hard to present a cohesive and coherent vision of what the show can be, the musical frequently feels more like an open cattle call than an exhibition of extraordinary talent.

BWW Review: THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW: Moonbox Productions Brings It Back to Harvard Square
by Nancy Grossman - Oct 21, 2019

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW was a staple of the Harvard Square entertainment scene from 1984 through 2012, enjoying an astounding 28-year run of Saturday midnight screenings at the late AMC Loews Theater. Just around the corner, Moonbox Productions returns to its Cambridge roots and blasts into its tenth season with THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, the live musical version at a pop-up venue at 25 Brattle Street. The venue, a once and future retail site, has a strangely appropriate ambience, an air of temporariness that is in sync with the secret of the creepy country estate where the story takes place. The cast is loaded with triple threats who can sing, dance, and act, but the number one reason to see the show is Peter Mill's performance as Frank N. Furter

BWW Review: Kick Off the Halloween Season With THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW in Kansas City at Louis Curtiss Studio Building
by Steve Wilson - Oct 13, 2019

If I was to have to find one flaw in the ROCKY HORROR SHOW, now playing at the Louis Curtiss Studio Building in Kansas City (formerly Prohibition Hall), it is that I only get to review it once this run. Seeing so many shows each year it is seldom that one comes along that makes me want to see it again. The ROCKY HORROR SHOW by Padgett Productions is definitely one of those shows I could see over and over. Audience participation isn't required but is highly encouraged.

BWW Review: A CHORUS LINE Razzle Dazzles At TUTS!
by Brett Cullum - Sep 13, 2019

Director Julie Kramer and choreographer Jessica Hartman have stayed true to the 1975 vision, but also managed to make it more energetic and faster paced. The dancers often seem to defy gravity and levitate during numbers, and it's all gorgeously staged and executed.
