BWW Review: A Noise Within's So ON With their NOISES OFF
by Gil Kaan - Apr 29, 2018

A Noise Within most successfully revives their 2011 audience favorite, Michael Frayn's 1982 NOISES OFF. Co-directors Julia Rodriguez-Elliott and Geoff Elliott sure-handedly lead their comically gifted cast through a fast moving two-hour-forty-minute romp of the most expert props handling, laser sharp comic timing and funny, naturalistic, three-dimensional characters. Time just whizzes up with this guffaw-inducing cast oft times making their entrances and exits through the seated audience.

BWW Review: Liesl Tommy Returns to Huntington Theatre With Churchill's TOP GIRLS
by Nancy Grossman - Apr 27, 2018

Tony Award-nominated director Liesl Tommy (A RAISIN IN THE SUN, MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM, RUINED) returns to the Huntington Theatre Company to lead a stellar, diverse cast in prolific British playwright Caryl Churchill's TOP GIRLS. Written in 1982 as a diatribe against Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's anti-union administration in England, the themes of Churchill's outspoken feminist play remain relevant and all too familiar more than three decades later. In addition to choosing actors outside the box of white, British women, Liesl also fields a creative team of designers which is almost exclusively female.

Sometimes, the very best show to watch in a theater is the one that happens when there is no audience around. NOISES OFF, now playing at Coronado's Lambs Player's through May 200th, proves this true in the farce that pokes fun while also simultaneously being a loving homage to the art of the theatre.

by Guest Blog: Hannah Hauer-King - Apr 4, 2018

On BroadwayWorld last year, Adam Spreadbury eloquently discussed his experience of directing Coming Clean, described as arguably the 'first gay kitchen sink drama' of the Eighties.
