Tickets are now on sale for the 5th Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival, the largest of its kind in North America, returning January 18-29, 2023, at venues large and small throughout the city.

San Francisco Playhouse will present the World Premiere of Cashed Out by Native American playwright Claude Jackson, Jr. Cashed Out will perform January 26 – February 25, 2023 (opening night: February 1) at San Francisco Playhouse.

The Latinx Playwrights Circle has announced the Off-Broadway Premiere of Christin Eve Cato's Sancocho directed by Rebecca Martinez, in partnership with WP Theater and The Sol Project.

Sancocho, a new play by Christin Eve Cato (The Good Cop, DUAF 2022) directed by Rebecca Martinez (Miss You Like Hell; Theatre for One: Here We Are) will have its Off-Broadway premiere at WP Theater in Spring 2023.

The Obie-Award winning The Fire This Time Festival has announced the four playwrights – Kendra Augustin, Kim Brockington, Jahquale Mazyck and James Anthony Tyler –  who will be developing work in the 5th cycle of its New Works Lab program.

Starring Gary Oldman in the cast are Academy Award-nominee Kristin Scott Thomas, BAFTA Scotland Award-winner Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Dustin Demri-Burns, Christopher Chung, Freddie Fox, Chris Reilly, Samuel West, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Academy Award-nominee Jonathan Pryce. First Floor Theater will conclude its Tenth Season with the Chicago premiere of Rehana Lew Mirza’s Kilroys’-lauded hit Hatef**k, directed by Arti Ishak, playing May 4 – June 10, 2023 at The Den Theatre.

Quintessence Theatre Group, Philadelphia's professional classic repertory theatre, begins Season XIII: Celebrating the Extraordinary with Eugène Ionesco’s The Chairs. Directed by Quintessence’s Artistic Director Alexander Burns, The Chairs, full of absurdist philosophy, witty wordplay and slapstick comedy runs through October 23.
