New Focus Recordings today releases composer Michael Hersch's the script of storms. The album (digital only) features two works by Hersch: cortex and ankle based on texts by Christopher Middleton, and the script of storms based on texts by Fawzi Karim.

The band has announced their new album, Sanguine Truth, produced by Fugazi's Guy Picciotto.

The newest celebrated Hamlet sequel is slated for a world premiere at Bruka Theatre in Reno next March.

White Horse Theater Company will present the West Coast Premiere of Broken Story by playwright Cyndy A. From September 9—15, acclaimed artist Martine Syms gathers together an eclectic group of films that influenced her debut feature, The African Desperate, for the series Martine Syms' Influences featuring indie classics, hidden gems by major directors, and avant-garde pieces by contemporary visual artists. The series leads into a run of Syms' The African Desperate opening at BAM September 16.

THE WAR OF WOO, a new play from Emmy Award-winning writer, artist and cartoonist Dean Haspiel, brings heartfelt bombast to New York City's Gene Frankel Theatre September 29 through October 15. Directed by Philip Cruise, the cast includes Seth Gilliam (The Walking Dead, The Wire) and Samantha Simone (Blue Bloods).

The first leg of the tour kicks off September 16 in Los Angeles, CA and concludes in Vancouver, BC on September 22. The 3-piece band returns on November 30 for a show in Cambridge, MA with that run ending in Washington, DC on December 16. They play Brooklyn’s Warsaw on December 1. Lyric Fest opens its 20th anniversary season with Elysian Fields: Dawns, Dreams, Visions - A Celebration of Lyric Fest's Beginnings on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 3:00pm at The Academy of Vocal Arts, and on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 7:30pm at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.

The Bryant Park Reading Room announced August’s lineup.
