Universal Theatrical Group, Working Title Films, Greene Light Stage, Michael Coppel Entertainments and Louise Withers Presents are thrilled that Adelaide audiences will finally have a chance to experience the magic of the multi award-winning smash hit Billy Elliot the Musical for the first time. The show officially opens in Adelaide tonight, December 31, at the Festival Theatre, Adelaide Festival Centre.

Bad Girls Upset by the Truth,' a musical, comedic one-woman show originally by Austin Music Awards' 'Songwriter of the Year' Jo Carol Pierce, returns to Texas stages for multiple dates in March of 2020. Celebrating 30 years since the creation of 'Bad Girls Upset by the Truth,' actor Lauren Meckel and director Marea Colombo are reviving this southwestern cult theatre hit at a time when outspoken female artists are reclaiming country music.

The Broadway-aimed musical Americano!, inspired by the life of DREAMer and political strategist Tony Valdovinos, will premiere at Phoenix, Arizona's The Phoenix Theatre Company, January 29 - February 23. Opening night is January 31. Americano! is presented by The Phoenix Theatre Company and Quixote Productions (Jason Rose, producer), Tony Award-winning producer Ken Davenport (Altar Boyz, Godspell, Kinky Boots and Once on This Island) is the executive producer.

On Saturday, February 1 at 8:00 p.m. Emmy-nominated Broadway star Tituss Burgess makes his Carnegie Hall debut in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage with a tribute concert to the music of Stephen Sondheim. Titled Take Me to the World, guest artists include Emmy Award winner Loretta Devine and Tony Award winners Jane Krakowski and Lillias White. Directed by Gabriel Vega Weissman with music direction by Charlie Rosen, the program focuses on the music of Sondheim - on the occasion of his upcoming 90th birthday - and its singular impact on Burgess's life and artistic trajectory.

The Old Globe's 2020 Summer Season brings to Balboa Park an extraordinarily talented group of artists who will delight audiences with their unique takes on four great works of theatre. Irving Berlin's White Christmas opened Sunday night November 17 to a packed house at Theatre at the Center in Munster.  The cast gave a thrilling performance for an audience that was teeming with the holiday spirit.  Theatre at the Center Artistic Director Linda Fortunato directed and choreographed the show.

Legendary, multi-award winning actress/singer Betty Buckley returns to Café Carlyle, March 10 a?" 21. Her career spans theater, film, television and concert halls around the world. She's received a sea of accolades including a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella, the Glamour Cat, in Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS. She's a 2012 Theatre Hall of Fame inductee, and the 2017 recipient of the Julie Harris Award from The Actor's Fund for Artistic Achievement. Betty Buckley just completed a national tour of the new Broadway production of Hello, Dolly! produced by Scott Rudin.

Light in the Attic Records commemorates the 40th anniversary of Donnie & Joe Emerson's Dreamin' Wild, the private press album that hit the mainstream, garnering considerable acclaim and notoriety since its original release in 1979, and subsequent reissue in 2011 by Light In The Attic. The brothers have recently become cult favorites thanks in large part to the hypnotic allure of “Baby,” a song that has been covered by Ariel Pink & Dâm-Funk (released as part of LITA's Cover Series) and featured in a number of films and TV shows, including a prominent placement in the most recent season of the critically acclaimed HBO series,Big Little Lies. The unlikely story of the rock'n'roll farmer boys from rural Washington State is set for a big screen adaptation, helmed by Oscar-winning producer Jim Burke(Green Book) and producer/writer/director Bill Pohlad (Love & Mercy, 12 Years a Slave, The Tree of Life).

The City of Cleveland Heights announces LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL (June 11-28, 2020) and SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM (August 6-16, 2020) will be produced in the Alma Theater as part of Cain Parkʼs 82nd season. Cain Park Theater Artistic Director Joanna May Cullinan directs both with musical direction by Jordan Cooper and choreography by Imani Jackson for Legally Blonde The Musical.

Fringe First winners Bear Trap Theatre and Alfred Fagon Award-winner Paula B Stanic bring the gripping true story of a revolutionary leader to the stage this autumn. Based on the too-short life of Black Panther Party member Fred Hampton, the drama opens on the night of his assassination. 50 years on from his death, the play highlights Hampton's life and legacy, in particular the peaceful negotiations he led with Chicago street gangs and his efforts to end to police brutality. Messiah is a timely retelling of Hampton's story, considering the revolutionary potential of politically engaged young people and the will to make a difference, whatever the cost.

The innovative educational program that debuted at HAMILTON on Broadway will continue in Philadelphia on Thursday, November 7 when over 1,700 students and teachers from 39 high schools attend the matinee performance of the musical at the Forrest Theatre.

In 2008, I was one of the few who was privileged enough to see a?oeGlory Daysa?? open (and close) on Broadway. So, when I saw that the show was in our area I made it a priority to attend. My anticipation for what I had hoped to witness did not go unfilled as Rise Above Performing Arts delivered a passionate rendition of this much maligned musical.

Artistic Director Brigid Larmour today announces programming to complete Watford Palace Theatre's season for September 2019 - June 2020, following the world première of Mushy: Lyrically Speaking earlier this month.
