Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, is pleased to announce that casting is complete for the Los Angeles premiere of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's Good Boys starring Betsy Brandt (CBS' Life in Pieces, and AMC's Breaking Bad) as Elizabeth Hardy, and directed by Carolyn Cantor on the mainstage of Pasadena Playhouse. The production will play June 26 through Sunday July 21; the press opening is June 30 at 5:00pm.

On Sunday June 16th, The Marvelous Wonderettes, currently playing Off-Broadway at Theatre Row, will take its final bow. The show had initially ended its three year run in January, but returned for Sunday performances shortly thereafter. Returning for the final performances as Missy Miller is Kristy Cates (Wicked, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland); who starred in the show in 2016.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop) has announced that it will produce Intimate Apparel, a new opera with music by Ricky Ian Gordon and a libretto by Lynn Nottage, based on her critically acclaimed play. The production, which will be directed by Bartlett Sher, will begin previews Thursday, February 27 and open on Monday, March 23 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Though the 1976 musical SO LONG, 174th STREET didn't even last a fortnight on Broadway, it wouldn't be surprising to see the York Theater Company's completely delightful revised version, ENTER LAUGHING, THE MUSICAL, return the Joseph Stein/Stan Daniels effort to the main stem someday, especially if director/adaptor Stuart Ross' slam-bang mounting keeps getting a little snazzier and a little funnier every time they bring it back.

Rehearsals begin today for Sue Townsend's The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13¾ - The Musical, which will open at the Ambassadors Theatre for a limited season from 15 June until 12 October 2019, with a Gala Night on Tuesday 2 July. The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced an incredible six-show lineup for its 201920 season. First, The 5th will stage a lavish production of Austen's Pride, A New Musical of Pride and Prejudice. For the holidays, The 5th will create a brand new staging of Shrek The Musical, which premiered at The 5th in 2008. The New Year kicks off with Stu for Silverton, which continues its developmental journey as a part of The 5th's New Musical Development Program. Next comes a joyful 5th Avenue Theatre original production of Sister Act, followed by an exclusive, limited two-week engagement of Once On This Island. The season will close with an original staging of the epic masterpiece, Evita. Additionally, The 5th will host a one-week run of the national tour of Jersey Boys.
