Continuing the 120-year-old tradition of bringing music, oration and the arts to the Boulder community, the Colorado Chautauqua Association, steward of Boulder's cultural and historical gem the Colorado Chautauqua National Historic Landmark, is pleased to announce its 2018 Summer Concert Series. The Grand Theatre is thrilled to announce a first-time collaboration with the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), bringing A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS to the Spriet Stage. This acclaimed stage adaptation, based on the award-winning novel by Khaled Hosseini, had its world premiere in San Francisco in July 2016 and became the bestselling production in A.C.T.'s history. Jazz virtuoso guitarist Earl Klugh returns, jazz fusion saxophonist Boney James and reggae giants Big Mountain close the month. Local artists this month include Kuana Torres Kahele, Josh Kaye and Friends featuring Riya Davis in a tribute to Jill Scott, a tribute to the Miles Davis First Great Quintet with DeShannon Higa & QuadPod, Amy Hanaiali'i, and a tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim with Sandy Tsukiyama and friends. Mike Lewis will present tribute shows to Duke Ellington and Natalie Cole featuring songstress Ginai and John Kolivas will host a tribute to the music of Stevie Wonder. The genre-bending Augie Rey makes his Blue Note Hawaii debut and Tavana returns to the stage by popular demand.

The Irvington Town Hall Theater (ITHT) Commission, which oversees the beautiful and historic 115-year-old, 432-seat theater in Town Hall of Irvington, N.Y., announced on Wednesday the launch of a two-date winter film series -- Rock the Winter Blues -- at the theater, with screenings on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, and Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, both starting at 7:30pm.
