THE WORST WITCH Flies Into The West End For A Strictly Limited Season

The Worst Witch will fly into the West End for 7 weeks only, over the summer holidays, from 24 July * to 8 September (*all tickets for the 24 July performance are just £20.00!) following its hugely successful premiere at Royal & Derngate and hit UK tour. This new story, adapted for the stage from Jill Murphy's original books by Emma Reeves (who won a Royal Television Society Award for Best Children's TV Programme and 2017 British Screenwriters Award for Best Children's Programme for the televised version of The Worst Witch) was launched last November as Royal & Derngate's Made in Northampton 2018 Christmas show.

Lively McCabe Entertainment Co-President Michael Barra proudly announces a slate of three new stage musicals in partnership with licensing agency Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW) and music powerhouse BMG. Liz White will make her Chichester debut as Joy Gresham, opposite Hugh Bonneville as C.S. Lewis, in William Nicholson's award-winning play Shadowlands, directed in the Festival Theatre by Rachel Kavanaugh and running from 26 April - 26 May (press night: 2 May). They are joined by Sally Cheng, Giles Coram, Emilio Doorgasingh, Lauren Hall, Andrew Havill, Beruce Khan and Timothy Watson, with Ruari Finnegan and Eddie Martin sharing the role of Joy Gresham's young son.

Central Works To Present THE VICTORIAN LADIES' DETECTIVE COLLECTIVE

Central Works season of new plays continues this spring with a "cheeky" thriller written by the local award-winning  playwright Patricia Milton, The Victorian Ladies' Detective Collective, opening May 4 running through June 2 (previews 5/2 & 3); world-premiere # 63, from the Central Works Writers Workshop. The production, directed by Gary Graves, is the fifth writer/director comic collaboration between Central Works' resident playwright and its company co-director.  In Victorian London it seems Jack the Ripper may be at it again where sisters Loveday and Valeria run a boarding house for Single Ladies.

FRANKENSTEIN Comes to La Monnaie

The disappointment was palpable when midway through the 2015-16 season it became clear that the world premiere of Frankenstein would not go ahead as planned because the set and the special effects were too exacting technically for the temporary infrastructure at Tour & Taxis. Partly because of the many film adaptations, Mary Shelley's modern myth about an idealistic, but arrogant scientist and his 'Creature' still clearly fires the collective imagination, and the expectations of Mark Grey's opera of the same name were running high. However, three seasons later La Monnaie is now more than ready to bring this production to life. All eyes are on the Polish-Lebanese conductor Bassem Akiki and the Spanish director lex Oll .
